Please READ news articles BEFORE reading on-air!

maybe they should start a new segment called surprise news article were a news article is handed to John or someone with out them having a chance to prepare. :rotfl2:

Believe it or not I do read them before the show. I even write/rewrite sections to make them flow better for the show.

Sometimes I flub up, sometimes I get to a section I thought I would read and just say 'blah, blah, blah' to skip over it, sometimes I mispronounce names and sometimes I choose to skip over the names.

Dh and I often say to each other that no one knows how much work someone else's job is. Unless it's exactly (in all ways) what you do, others simply don't know. We do continuing education for electrical contractors, workers, etc. My Dh literally spends hundreds of hours developing/researching the material. No one else understands that, they think he shows up and talks for 6-8 hours.

It's just difficult to see the effort that goes into something, unless it's something you have done yourself.

Personally, I love the show, the goof-ups make it real and fun but I also understand the behind the scenes (as much as I'm able) that go into it.

You guys rock!

John, I feel awful you felt the need to respond. The effort, energy and dedication you and the whole team put into the show is highly apparent in each and every episode. We are all so lucky to tune into the quality product you produce each week. Many thanks, and keep doing what you are doing!!! :goodvibes

Two words: "tutus"

OMG - one of my all time favorite moments! Well that and "does the curtain match the drapes?" This is what makes the show entertaining.

We love you John!

OP - a bit snarky but you are entitled to your opinion.

Sometimes the flubs are the best part. Didn't you ever watch SNL and think it was great when they laughed when they weren't supposed to or mess up their line?

I'm a total newbie to the entire DIS/DIS Unplugged nation. In fact, I stumbled upon the show by accident when searching Youtube for info on MagicBands a few weeks ago (that segment by Shaun was awesome btw). Since I liked that segment so much and the approach you guys have in keeping Disney fans up-to-date, I watched a regular video news show and immediately fell in love with the podcast. You guys do a phenomenal job. I like how the news portion is conducted and the fact it isn't super perfect when read by John or whomever, but still professional and very informative without being long-winded.

I can see why a few would not like it, but being human is never going to allow one flawless spoken sentence after another. Keep up the good work, mispoken words and all. :goodvibes

I gotta say that I have been wanting to respond a second time to this thread for a few days and then kept stopping myself. While I am fully supportive of people being able to speak their minds as I am about to do, this kinda crap just really irks me.

1. Make some completely random and fairly rude statement with no real explanation.
2. When people disagree or ask for some explanation, don't respond...

It's been 10 days with no further response from the OP. OP, I don't know if you are reading this any longer. Perhaps it was just some casual throw away remark, or perhaps it was pot-stirring. I honestly don't know and at this point I don't care.

What I do care about, deeply as a matter of fact is that was a person you were talking about so rudely. These are people that spend their time every week doing something for free that brings great enjoyment to a lot of people. Yeah ok, they have businesses that this supports. And they love their work. And a few are getting paid to do the show. But quite honestly, that's not the point. They are people, really nice people as a matter of fact and taking random potshots at them is not acceptable. It's not acceptable to do that to anyone.

I always say that before you post something, imagine yourself in the same room with that person, or people, looking them in the eye and saying it to their face. I think the internet would be a much nicer place if people did that. And yes if I was standing next to you, I'd say this to your face quite happily. Politely, but firmly just as it's being said in my mind right now.

And to John, I too am sorry you felt the need to respond. You were a lot more gracious than I might have been. I'm sure you all know that the vast majority of us love what you do. And you undoubtedly know better than I how people are on the internet, but I hope you don't take any of the negative seriously. I have a feeling you guys probably don't, but sometimes it must get to you. Just remember all the rest of us that love the show and are really grateful for all the energy and time that you put into it.

I thought of this thread while watching Jimmy Kimmel's latest "mean tweets" segment ("bad" words are bleeped but still not very family friendly): http://youtu.be/4Y1iErgBrDQ
