Hi Mary Ann...

I have been to this restaurant twice. It was our first meal on our very first trip to Disney and we LOVED it. It was awesome. (Needless to say we were HOT and STARVING, so it tasted even better!)

So on our second trip, two years later - we returned and because of those high expectations, we were let down. I think I have read on these boards that lately, it's been getting good reviews. It is a fun experience. I have always gotten the Fetticune Alfredo.

Hope that helps.

Also should add - I do not think we'd go here again - partially because of the second sub-par experience and because of the desire to try new places.

:thumbsup2

I've eaten there for lunch several times. I've always been pleased. Their Caeser is to die for. As is there Alfredo.

Alfredo's is horrible :sad1:

I would definitley take a pass on this one and try something else. In Epcot we really enjoyed Le Cellier in Canada.

We have tried sooo many times over the years to get into this resturant because our family loves Itialian food.
Finially we made a lunch time ADR. A meal we looked forward to for such a long time was just a big disapointment...

We were 6 adults, hot and tired. We waited for over 30 min to get in and when we got in the dining room there were hardly any tables filled up, what was the long wait for?
We all ordered IceTea's and Lemonades, we had to nearly beg for refills.
The server tried hard to get us to order appitizers but we really only wanted salads and pasta.
Got bread, that was never refilled again and OK salads. Our entries came out and all were barley warm- yuck. The waiter was no where to be seen to get this corrected so we ate what we had.

Our server just really seemed put out that we did not order a multi course meal and the lack of service showed.
We had much better meals and service at our local Olive Garden.
We have crossed this resturant off our list since there are so many better offerings at Epcot...

We ate here for lunch a few times over Christmas of 2005 and had a great server and meal each time. It's not a rushed place... so if you've got somewhere to be you may want to skip it. But for a relaxed, yummy meal... this is the place.

I personally don't think it is all that great, but my kids LOVE this place - especially the desserts!

We've never tried to eat lunch, only dinner, and I will tell you, both times we had an ADR and had to wait quite a bit, and the meal itself took quite a while.

Hope this helps!

Food was so so but the entertainment was great. Not my favorite Epcot restaurant but it is good overall. I like Portabello Yacht club at DDT for Itailian. It is great for kids though. Enjoy.

We ate there on our last trip and I have to say that we won't eat there again. Everyone except DH ordered the alfredo and we were all disappointed. Maybe we have lower expectations, but we were expecting something more like the Olive Garden's alfredo sauce and it was nothing like that. My boys ordered the pasta with white sauce from the kids' menu and theirs was a little bit closer to the sauce we are used to. And, I agree that it took forever to get out of there. The place was packed when we were there (4/28), but we had a lot of trouble getting refills, more kids' sauce, more bread and even the check!

You'll see it gets mixed reviews.

Alfredo sauce from Alfredos (and you are getting Alfredo's Alfredo) is nothing more than butter and pargmeign. It isn't the creamy alfredo you are probably used to. The pasta is homemade - heavy for my taste, but similar to what we had in Rome. My husband loves it. I didn't like the Ceasar, which wasn't ceasar-y at all. The red sauce they serve is sweet for my own palate. The menu is subject to change, I was hoping for gnocchi, which wasn't available that night, and ended up with something I didn't like at all. I didn't like the tiramisu - which I thought was flavorless, but other people have raved over it. We did think the mousse's were good. Bread is delicious. Service tends to be uneven, ours was fine, but there are lots of complaints about the service here.

Illuminations usually starts at 9:00 - check the time to make sure its really 9:30. We like to eat no later than seven, because it can take an hour or longer to eat, and it can take thirty minutes or longer to get seated. If this is your only chance for Illuminations, you don't want to miss it being back in a restaurant and I'd err on the side of eating early.

Comparing Olive Garden to Italian food is like saying Taco Bell is the standard for Mexican fare. The two are very different. Authentic Italian cooking is much heavier in flavor and doesn't always appeal to everyone. The OP's are correct about the Alfredo sauce.

IMHO, every year we have gone to Alfredo's we've been more and more dissappointed. The first year, we thought we died and went to heaven--it was fabulous. Every year since, it hasn't been as good. They also used to have the trio walking around the dining room for entertainment. As far as I know, they were eliminated with some of the other performers throughout Epcot.

I would say, if you like Olive Garden, then my guess is that you will NOT like Alfredo's. But again--this is just MY opinion!!!

I LOVE  Alfredo's. I also like Olive Garden and their Fettucini Alfredo, but nothing compares to Alfredo's alfredo!!!! I have been there 6 times and the food has always been outstanding. The caesar salad, bread, fettucini alfredo, and desserts are all top notch. I have eaten at *most* of the WS restaurants and *most* have been above average in food quality, but Alfredo's is the only place I have been to every trip since my first meal there. :Pinkbounc I agree that sometimes the service can be a bit slow and drink refills are not always plentiful...but the outstanding food more than makes up for it in my eyes!

I have eaten here twice. The first time definitely better than the second. You didn't mention if your are dining with children? I consider this more adult - maybe just me. The Alfredo is wonderful - to die for - very Northern Italy - nothing like Olive Garden or the like. That being said, I do believe that for the money, it isn't quite worth it. Very expensive, for what you are getting. As far as other Epcot meals, we LOVE Rose and Crown, Fish and Chips only, and if you can time your adr's right you can sit right near the water and eat and watch Illuminations!!! Very Special. Again, only if you are not with children - they seem to have the worst kid's menu of all - basic hot dog or mac-n-cheese. LeCellier has both delighted and disappointed us on different occasions, so I am leary to recommend.

Sorry if this wasn't much help! I am leaving in the morning and haven't packed yet!!! My DH is asleep on the couch and if he knew I was STILL on the boards he would scream!! :rotfl: I just can't help myself - I am sure I won't sleep tonight, anyway.

You won't find much consensus on Alfredo's on this board, just controversy.
It's our favorite restaurant and we've been going since Epcot opened. I won't try to sway your opinion, but I would suggest that if you decide to dine there, adjust your expectations. It will probably be different from the other Italian food you've had.:earsboy:

We've been there 3x and hope it gets better each time, but it doesn't. no more for us.

We were there in May. this was our first time and we love Italian. WHAT a disappointment. First we were seated in a back room as if we were naughty. There were tables in the main dining hall available but we were places in the back with a large table of about 15 hight school kids next to us. The waiters and waitresses were always in the doorway next to our table with their backs to us so we could not even see what was in the main room. My DH was sooo disappointed he said never again. We were on the dining plan and i always left an extra 5 or more and he refused to let me leave any extra. The service was terrible, no refrills on anything or it took so long. But as I mentioned the worse part was being put in the "back" room that was very bland and all we could do was look at the backs of waiters and waitresses.

During December Epcot is open until 9:30, with Illuminations at 9:30. This is because the last showing of the Candlelight Processional runs past 9:00.

We have eaten at Alfredos a handful of times. We had one very good lunch experience, but other than that we've always been disappointed and we will not eat there again. The Fettuchini is very good, and the rest of the food is ok, but it isn't worth the spotty service and terrible restaurant policies. Let me just say this.... Don't eat there on the Candlelight Processional dinner package or with a voucher (who wants to fight with a waiter to get that which you are entitled to?) and don't order the lemonade (this is the only place they charge for lemonade refills).
