Please provide recent reviews of dinner at Crystal Palace. I have had breakfast before and was very satisfied. Now we are scheduled to have dinner on Thanksgiving and I am second guessing the reservation however realize nothing else would be available at this point. Thanks in advance for the reviews. No matter what we will just be happy to be at disney world.:)

Well my review is not recent, we ate there in July 2008, but it was the best buffet meal we had, hands down. In fact, I think I could eat my weight in the banana bread pudding, it rivaled Ohana's, really!!

This is one of those few places we go more for the food, not for the characters. Most buffets, IMO, have okay food, nothing spectacular, but this one really was heads and shoulders above all the others we ate at (and we ate at a lot).

Our next trip in March we are doing a repeat of dinner there, and have added breakfast as well!

We are all adults and go to Crystal Palace for the food, not the characters. We love their dinner; there is soooo much to choose from, and all fresh and delicious! Unfortunately CP will be closed during our January trip, darn it.

Does anyone know if the lunch buffet is similar or, more importantly, as good? I could go check on allears.net, but I thought someone here might be able to vouch for lunch. :)

We just ate there less than 2 weeks ago. I guess if you like buffets, you will probably like Crystal Palace. They had an extensive selection of cold salads (my favorite part of the meal here), including a fairly good edamame salad, and small shrimp to peel (OK, but my children love shrimp, so this is all they ate that night). For hot foods, they had 1-2 soups (OK), a few carved meat-type of things (OK, nothing truly exciting, I can't remember what I ate), and various side-dishes (ratatouille, potatoes, etc). There's a kid station with 3 dishes, including nuggets and mac and cheese. For dessert, there's a self-serve soft-ice cream machine, with various toppings (chocolate, sprinkles), and 3 desserts (the pumpkin cheesecake was the best part of this meal, very creamy). There was nothing particularly "good" about the buffet or particularly "bad." It's a buffet, and most dishes are fairly standard/unexciting, meant to appeal to a wide variety of people. I think truly good food is hard to pull off at a buffet, and Crystal Palace was no exception, but if you have picky eaters, there certainly was enough variety so that everyone will find something to eat. If you're on the Disney Dining Plan, it's a good choice with kids because they can eat from the regular buffet instead of being limited to the uninspiring children's menus. But, we will not be eating at Crystal Palace, or any buffet at Disney again. They are loud, and the food is just OK.

We have lunch at CP in September and it was our favorite meal of the trip. Lots of choices (no shrimp), yummy mashed potatoes and the carved meats: flank steak and pork loin, were fantastic!

We were there two weeks ago also. We loved it as usual. It is one of our favorite meals of our trips. We miss it when we do not go. Great buffet and deserts. Nice atmosphere for a character restaurant. Waiter was very cordial and helpful, though they were very busy he was attentive and did not make us feel that we were asking too much.

We were there a couple weeks ago for lunch, and it was our favorite buffet meal of the trip (we had several). We thought the food was pretty good!

My DW and SIL recently had the CP dinner for the first time based on Kevin's excellent review of the food a few months ago. We were not disappointed! There is a HUGE selection of salads, entrees and desserts and all are very good, definitely not your typical buffet food. We enjoyed it as much as Boma, especially the desserts. :goodvibes The characters were not important to us, but we did get a few nice photos with them.
