thanks everyone. my childhood dog, puff, had to be put down a few years ago, but he was old and i had been out of my mom's house for 6 years so it didn't hit me as hard as this. this was just so unexpected. she had so many years left. i know she's playing with Puff right now and the vets say she didn't feel a thing. so that's good. it's just so heartbreaking. luckily colin doesn't understand too much what has happened. he saw us both very upset this morning, so we're going to try to put on a happy face tonight when we pick him up from daycare. ryan thought it'd be best for him to stick to his routine and not see us upset all day. our corgi, milo, seems to be okay so far. milo and maggie fought just like brother and sister so i know he'll miss her, too. i keep thinking/hoping it's all a bad dream, but i know it's not. i'm sorry i'm rambling, but i'm not in the mood to have to talk to people irl and typing this out helps. here's a picture of our girl:

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Maggie is such a beautiful little girl. I lost my Fluffy about a year ago to a hit and run driver. I know the pain you are going through.

Maggie was such a cutie I remember the pictures you had in your signature at one time. One of my dogs was hit by a car, she was about 4yo and it was one of the worst things ever. I've lost other pets but we had her before kids and she was our baby, it was just harder that time.
