Please pray for my Mum

Please could you pray for my dear Mum who is very ill in hospital.
She has growths in her bile duct that have caused a blockage resulting in her becoming extremely jaundiced. The hospital have not been able to carry out the procedure to ease the blockage as it is quite extensive. They are sending her to a hospital 70 miles away to see if they can help her.

All our mums are special to us but my mum is a very special person. She is one of those people that always puts others before herself. She had a tough upbringing in Ireland which has given her this great strength of character. She never complains when things are hard and would do anything to help her family and friends. People always tell me how wonderful she is and how lucky I am to have her as my mum.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers

I had blockage in my bile duct that had to be removed by a special procedure going through my liver. I also had to move hospitals for this procedure.

Please have someone with her to remind the doctors about pain management. In my case a tube had to be left in the bile ducts for about 6 weeks. My body treated this tube as an obstruction, and I was in agonizing pain with nothing prescribed by the doctors to control the spasms.

Once I got the meds it was totally under control. But I was in terrible, terrible pain until they could contact the doctor. I wish I had know of this possibility ahead of time (my doctors should have), but that's when it helps to have family being proactive for you.

Arminnie - thanks for the advice. My Mum has said that she is not feeling much pain at the moment. It's so hard to tell with my Mum as she plays everything down.
