Does anyone have a picture(s) they can post of the following:

-a scene showing the bench at/around the flagpole in the front of MK -- when you first enter the park...isn't there Walt Disney on the bench or something?

-a scene showing the bench by Tony's restaurant in MK when you first enter the park on the right -- the one with a bronze Goofy sitting there.

-a scene showing a/the bench in MK by the castle -- the center courtyard in the front of the castle -- I thought there was a statue of Walt Disney or Mickey or something in front of the castle? Does anyone have a picture of a bench there/around that?

-a scene showing the sword in the stone by Cinderella's Carousel in MK -- where Merlin comes out daily to do a show...is there a bench around there?




Sorry for this seemingly-silly list of photos request...I DON'T have an obsession with benches ...it's that we are surprising my mom in Feb. by attending her 50th birthday party vacation trip (that we are sending her on) and we just want to show up there on her first day in the parks to announce that we are on the vacation too! I have to give my step-father instructions about where to meet us/find us sitting...Or, if anyone has any other idea, we arrive at MK on a Monday (Jan 30) at 4 pm - and want to surprisingly meet up with mom and step-dad (who get to the parks that day at noon).

Ahhh, how sweet. You could always make ADR's for breakfast, and list the entire party on the reservation. Dad and Mom could arrive for breakfast, and be seated at "your" table. ( You guys are already there of course).

Once we were at US, and we were walking near the jaws ride, well we stopped to get a pic with the hanging shark there in front of the ride, when I saw my dad coming off the ride........ I couldn't believe it. Our trip was spur of the moment, and my DM and Ddad had gone to visit an uncle, then they decided to go to US......... it was really funny........ more so, since it wasn't planned......... but I love your idea!!! How fun!!! Happy planning.

Roy & Minnie? Where is that one? is that the one in front of the courtyard by the castle? This is WDW, right?

I was last there in Feb '05 and they had the whole courtyard in front of the castly boarded up with tall walls -- with a sign reading they were getting ready for the 50th anniv. party starting in May.

So, what did they do to the castle courtyard in the spring when it was boarded up? Is this Roy & Minnie statue new to the area there?

My husband and I have pics of april '04 in front of the castle all clean (no construction/improvements going on), and it shows what WAS there...but I don't have them here at work and my mind is reeling to remember..

Roy and Minnie are in the center courtyard just past the train station. Walt and Mickey are in the center circle in front of the castle - the statue is not a bench, however, and is called Partners. There are also several smaller statues in this area of other characters on pillars. There are some benches and concrete ledges to sit on there. The refurb last year was to make the entire area accessible - they got rid of the step up and ramps and just made the entire thing a slope so that strollers and wheelchairs can simple go up and down at any point in the circle.

Just a side note...a lot of people say NOT to meet at the castle/partners statue because it is such a busy/populated area. It might be nice to meet at one of the locations you mentioned at the front of the park, like the Goofy bench or the Minnie/Roy bench so you guys can walk down Main Street together...that's the real entrance to the park IMO.

ITA with the previous poster.

Also, the goofy bench is on a very large and long porch so if you're meeting on a hot day you have a great shady place to meet.
