My grandmother always made divinity. I guess that's more of a candy not a cookie... Maybe we need a candy thread too! :thumbsup2
 
These are in my top 10 of favorites! They are so soft and delicious. :) Cookies are my favorite thing to bake and I make around 20 different types during the holidays. Looking forward to this thread!:thumbsup2

RASPBERRY ALMOND SHORTBREAD THUMBPRINTS


Package these buttery rich thumbprint cookies filled with raspberry preserves and drizzled with an almond glaze in a creative holiday tin.


Preparation time: 45 min Baking time: 14 min
Yield: 3 1/2 dozen cookies


Cookie Ingredients:
1 cup LAND O LAKES® Butter, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup raspberry jam**


Glaze Ingredients:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 teaspoons water
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

Combine butter, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add flour. Beat, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Heat oven to 350°F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Make indentation in center of each cookie with thumb (edges may crack slightly). Fill each indentation with about 1/4 teaspoon jam.

Bake for 14 to 18 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.

Meanwhile, stir together all glaze ingredients in small bowl with wire whisk until smooth. Drizzle over cookies. .

**Substitute 1/2 cup of your favorite flavor jam.

Is this recipe on Land O Lakes' website? It looks REALLY good!!!!:) I love anything with almond in it!!
 
No Bake Cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine butter, sugar, cocoa and milk in a 2-quart saucepan. Heat on medium high heat until it comes to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 1/2 minutes. Do not stir while it's boiling. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper and let cool. Makes about 2 dozen.

No bake cookies are killer!!!!
 

Maple Snickerdoodles

oh these are so yummy. i've made them numerous times and everyone loves them! it's from allrecipes.com. i've tweaked it a little though.

INGREDIENTS

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 cup margarine
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 tbsp maple sugar
* 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
* 1 egg
* 4 tbsp white sugar
* 2 tbsp maple sugar

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, 1 cup of white sugar and 2 tbsp maple sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and maple syrup. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed. In a small dish, mix together the remaining 4 tbsp white sugar and the maple sugar. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, and roll the balls in the sugar mixture. Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cookies will be crackly on top and look wet in the middle. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.

Orange Creamsicle Cookies

Ingredients
• 1/2 cup Tang orange crystals or other orange drink mix
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 1/2 cups vanilla baking chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Beat butter until light & fluffy. Add the sugar,egg,tang & vanilla extract,beat for another minute or so. Add remaining dry ingredients,mix well. Roll heaping TBs into balls. Place 2" apart onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until tops are very lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on sheet then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups peanut butter chips

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt, stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, fold in the peanut butter chips. Drop cookies by heaping teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Cool on wire racks.

Thanks so much for all these recipes. So many of them are our "traditions" but we have a DD with peanut/tree nut allergies and I can't even make them anymore. :sad2: Looking for some new traditions....

My grandmother and aunt always made this, too. We called it "infinity" though because there was always so much that it lasted forever!:lmao:

Hi peeps... but this the all time fave at work.. and had been ask to bring it always when we have parties.. not my orginal somethign I stumble on the parking lot... :goodvibes Yup.. someone printed it off the internet.. must have drop it and I found it.... :)

Gooey bars!!!

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar


DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, melted butter and 1 egg until smooth. Batter will be thick. Spread evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Next, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the layer of dough. Finally, beat the cream cheese, 2 eggs and confectioners' sugar together in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour as evenly as you can over the chocolate chips.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is set. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars.

These look so good. Me and DD will be making these this weekend. It will also give me a chance to use up a big jar of Strawberry jam. ;) Thank You.
