Please post if your school has a fall break for 2014?

Okay, but you are the only family allowed to have that week as fall break. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Sorry! The good news is that a lot of our friends are not doing Disney this year. I'll try to talk everyone else out of it if I can.

We get what they call a fall break around Veterans Day for two days off which happens to correspond with the start of hunting season.

We have Sept 29-Oct 10th this year. This is Bay Area California.
Ours is a year round school though.
I had to take advantage this year so we arrive on Oct 1st!! :cool1:

I teach in nc. There has been no spring break in over 15 or 20 years around me. Some counties differ slightly with a day or two but that is it. There is one teacher workday always scheduled in oct but that is it.

We have fall break Oct 6th-10th this year. Our schools have a year round calendar. They have 8 weeks out during summer. 1 week for fall, 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 week at spring.

Indiana here... We go back Aug 1, two weeks off 10/11 to 10/26, two weeks at Christmas, two weeks at spring break. The trade off is that we only have most of June and July off for summer break. We go the full 180 days, and get to travel in the fall.

I know in Indiana my sister's children have off the week before Columbus day for fall break.

Anyone else know when your 2014 fall break is yet?

thanks!

Not all of Indiana has that week off. Our school is out the 3rd week of October on wed, thurs, fri.

I live in jersey. Of course there is "jersey week" first week in November. Teachers convention the end of the week and Election Day on the Tuesday. Kids only go Monday and Wednesday. Some schools have off all week.

No Fall break for us. :worried:
We are in Texas. We start school the last week of August with Thanksgiving week and 2 1/2 weeks off at Christmas plus a spring break mid March. We do have 1 day every month for teach in-service (kids are out but teachers work on planning and grades).
I wish we had a fall break. Our Texas truancy laws are sooooo tough.
If our kids miss 3 days in a row, you must have a doctors excuse or you are truant and are unexcused and take 0's for the time you are off.

Thanks everyone for responding!

I'm going 10/21-10/30 and I'm hoping there aren't too many fall breaks that week! :rotfl:

I haven't put money down, but I do believe I'll be arriving around the 24th and leaving the 30th as well. Fingers and toes are crossed there aren't many schools out too! I watched the app last Oct to see wait times for various rides. I know this past Oct was a little cray cray, but it did seem to taper off towards the end of the month.

Out in east Atlanta we have spring break the week of October 20th this year. It changes one year it was end of September this past year it was the week of October 7. This is the first time it has been so late.
Here in south Georgia where I recently moved, there is no fall break:confused3 but the get off veterans day and off Columbus day

WI has teachers convention the third week of October for a 2 1/2 day break for the kids on Wed, Thu, Fri of that week. That is our fall break.

Wow, those are some tough truancy laws! My school district doesn't seem to care how long the kids are out, as long as you call them in sick. We took my 3 daughters to Disney two years ago for the week before Christmas. They were in 3 different schools - elementary, middle, and high school. I just sent in notes that said they would be absent the following week. Not a question was asked.

Here in Kentucky, we get a fall break. It's not early in the school year though since we start the first week of August. I'm guessing you start right after Labor Day. If so, then it would be early.

Our fall break this year is October 6-10. Can't wait! I will be enjoying WDW with my DH!

I'm in Kentucky too. Ours is the same. Every time we go on fall break we always seem to see tons of Kentucky people (lots of UK shirts :) ) We'll be there October 3-10. I'm pulling my daughter out the Friday before fall break since I'm doing the Tower of Terror 10 miler on Saturday. Hopefully it won't be too bad since we're heading home at the beginning of Columbus weekend.

We are in NJ and don't start until after Labor Day. My district gets Rosh Hashanah my son's get Columbus Day and then we all get a 4 day weekend first week of November for NJEA convention.

I wish! We surprised my daughter with a trip to Disney the week before Christmas break her Sr year, December 2007. She never missed school and she had a 3.81 GPA and full honor/AP student. She missed one week of school and came back to a teacher, an assistant principle and a truent officer interigation. My husband and I hit the roof. She called us in tears and we immediately went to the school. We were honest and told them we had taken her out of school to for a trip to Disney World to celebrate her Sr year and 13 years of being a great student. Her teachers were instucted to give her 0's for any missed assignments. Some of her teachers did not enforce it (thank goodness) but her GPA went from a 3.81 to a 3.69.
The hardest thing was, one of my daughters best friends was also at Disney that same week but got no reprecussions at all. Not sure how that happened but I can only imagine that her mom had a doctors note or something.
Oh well, we lived through it but it was horrible!
We are going in September with 2 of our grandsons but we are only pulling them out of school for 2 days and then they have a teacher in service day on the following Monday. Just a 5 day trip but we will have fun! :cool1:

We also live in Texas and that is one of the MANY reasons we have our son in private school. He will be in 3rd grade when we go to WDW in October and I already told the teacher (who we will be requesting and know he will get) that he will miss that week. She said her family might be right there with us. :)

October 9-14. We went to WDW during this time last year and it was more crowded than predicted, with lots of people from states with fall breaks as well (including Kentucky).
