We are going to Disney the last week in August.
Myself, husband and 21month baby.
We have never been to a Disney restaurant and this is our first trip to Disney in 15 years (SO EXCITED) :yay:
We are staying at a value resort in wdw.
We are big kids so love Disney atmosphere, pickey eaters (like chicken, veggies and husband likes meat- baby loves everything) Husband is Irish- we are living in Canada. He loves breakfast foods - me not so much- but love the idea of early entry and get photo ops to Magic Kingdom.
One issue is baby is able to sit for short periods of time- like things to distract her like costumed characters or entertainment.

Need help - I have read the reviews, looked at pictures but I am just confused now as I come down to the last decisions. :confused3

Sunday- arrive around 5 at the resort so booked the Irish Pub in Downtown Disney. :thumbsup2

Monday- choice between 1900 Park Fare, Boma or Sanaa- all dinners

Tuesday- choice between Garden Grill (dinner). Biergarten (dinner) or Tonys (lunch)

Wednesday- got a 825 at Crystal Palace (is that ok time wise for rope drop)
Crystal Palace (dinner)

Thursday- Chef Mickeys (dinner) or Biergarten (dinner)

Friday- Boma (dinner) or Ohana (so excited to finially get a dinner) :yay:

Saturday- Kona (dinner) Boma (dinner) or Crystal Palace (dinner)

I also have a reservation at SanAngel and Tusker House.

Help me find the best choices!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your upcoming trip!!

With picky eaters you are pretty safe with any place that is a buffet. HOWEVER, I will warn you of Boma's buffet.
Boma's dishes are mainly African and use African spices, which are sweet. Like cinnamon and fruits.
Even the rubs for the meat are cinnamon, veggies, potatoes...everything has a sweet flavor to it. So just be aware.
We did not like this. We like hot spicey not sweet for our "entrees". So I llike to warn people of this.
If I had known that everything had a sweet taste I wouldn't have choosen it. We wanted to be adventerous but not eat dessert for dinner. lol

Another warning is San Angel Inn....now I LOVE This restaurant but like to warn people that is is NOT tex mex style like we are familar with but more traditional mexican. So look over the menu and make sure everyone would enjoy it. The restaurant iteself is great....very romantic and relaxing.

Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are great, love them both!

Good luck and have fun on your trip!

Just one person's opinion. No matter what you pick you will have a great time. Based on what you narrowed it down to, I would pick...

Sunday - Keep Raglan Road at DTD, nice choice

Monday - Boma if open to some different foods, if not 1900 Park Fare

Tuesday - Biergarten (lots of space to run around and dance :))

Wednesday - Definitely keep Crystal Palace breakfast to get into park early for pics, too late for rope drop; change time if you want to make that.

Thursday - Chef Mickeys for characters

Friday - Definitely Ohana

Saturday - Kona dinner, excellent food and not too quiet, ok with little one but good dinner for you two.

Tusker House was alot of fun. Our kids liked the character breakfast alot!

Have a great trip!

Day 1 --- can't help, not even aware of the Irish Pub :)

Day 2 -- If I am correct in assuming that DH is kind of a "meat & Potatoes" guy, then go with 1900 Park Fare over Boma and Sanaa. The thing with Boma & Sanaa is they very eclectic and you either love them or hate them. I know lots of people LOVE Boma but I we are with Nadjalu on this one... the food was just too odd for our tastebuds

Day 3-- Garden Grill? Don't know that one. Biergarten is good german food, but once again a little eclectic. Can't say about Tony's, never tried. We like to go to Mama Melrose's in DHS for our Italian food fix.... very yummy!

Day 4-- Thumbs up for Crystal Palace. Are you saying you will eat breakfast there (rope drop?) AND come back for dinner? I would go somewhere different before doing it twice. Maybe Tony's here than where you had it earlier in your week?

Day 5-- Chef Mickey's is great!

Ohana's is great as well.

Man isn't amazing how much time we put in to our eating at WDW? hehe....

:)

CONGRATS ON YOUR ALMOST HERE TRIP
Sunday- arrive around 5 at the resort so booked the Irish Pub in Downtown Disney. :thumbsup2 I think your DH will like this one!

Monday- choice between 1900 Park Fare, Boma or Sanaa- all dinners
If Park Fare has characters for dinner, I think your baby would enjoy this more from what you said about her liking characters, however we really like BOMA but it does have unique offerings, don't know about Sanaa.

Tuesday- choice between Garden Grill (dinner). Biergarten (dinner) or Tonys (lunch) Garden Grill has characters, Biergarten is a lot of fun, don't care much for TOny's - no red wine with the pasta

Wednesday- got a 825 at Crystal Palace (is that ok time wise for rope drop)
Crystal Palace (dinner) CP bfast for sure, but not again for dinner - switch dinner with one of your other choices: Ohana, Park Fare or Chef Mickey to help decide the other nights

Thursday- Chef Mickeys (dinner) or Biergarten (dinner) CM over Biergarten, but Biergarten is so much fun

Friday- Boma (dinner) or Ohana (so excited to finially get a dinner) :yay: Sounds like you want Ohana!

Saturday- Kona (dinner) Boma (dinner) or Crystal Palace (dinner) Again, would not do CP again since you haven't been in 15 years, experience different dinners

I also have a reservation at SanAngel and Tusker House. Maaavelous!

Help me find the best choices!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time. As much as we like CP, I would not do it 3 times especially since you haven't been to WDW in 15 years. Try different places - that's part of the fun. BTW, if DH like b-fast & baby likes characters, are you doing the Bfast with Donald Duck at Tusker House?

Boma

Assuming you plan to be in Epcot--I'd do Biergarten.

Wednesday- got a 825 at Crystal Palace (is that ok time wise for rope drop)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Doubt you'd make RD. If you'll be stressed about that do dinner.

Thursday- Chef Mickeys (dinner) or Biergarten (dinner)
Where will you be? I love Chef Mickey's

Friday- Boma (dinner) or Ohana (so excited to finially get a dinner) :yay:
Definately 'Ohana!

Saturday- Kona (dinner) Boma (dinner) or Crystal Palace (dinner)
Kona unless you haven't done the others and are in those parks.
I also have a reservation at SanAngel and Tusker House.
I've never had a good experience at San Angel, especially with kids.

Help me find the best choices!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you can go wrong! Since you haven't been in so long and never been to these restaurants you'll love experiencing them all. I would take into consideration where you are staying and which park you are visiting to make the choices.

Have a great trip!

Don't pass up 1900 Park Fare. That place is so much fun with the characters. The dinner selections were good, and the desserts at the buffet were all winners. It was a great way to start out our trip. DH doesn't like character meals, but the step mother even had him smiling.

They are all great choices, but I can't help but wonder, do you already have ADRs for all of them? Because your chances of getting ADRs at this point is slim to none. I tried a few of your choices for the days you are asking about and most have no availability.

Thanks to everyone for your help.
I appreciate you feedback.

Yes- I do have reservations for these places- just trying to cancel my extras - as soon as I made my final decisions. We were late making these (because we didnt want to do restaurants with a baby- but decided to do it)
so I got luckey and I checked A LOT!!!!!

Sunday- Irish Pub :shamrock:

Monday- 1900 Park Fare (dinner)

Tuesday- Biergarten (dinner)
(sad about cancelling garden grill- love chip and dale but the biergarten sounds like a blast)

Wednesday- Crystal Palace (dinner)
(because everyone is saying I wont make the rope drop with 825- but I am going to keep trying for an earlier breakfast!!!)

Thursday- Chef Mickeys (dinner)

Friday- Ohana (dinner)

Saturday- Boma (dinner)

Thanks again for taking the time to help!!

Looks like a great line-up of food & fun - ENJOY!

Don't feel too bad about Garden Grill, you'll see all your pals over at Chef Mickey's. One last tip, since your husband likes bfast, you could try getting bfast at the Tusker House, it's with Donald Duck.

P.S. When DS was a baby, we always took him to causal restaurants, as he got older, he knew how to behave when we'd go out to dinner. I think you'll have a good experience taking your baby to the restaurants - hope you all have fun :)

Monday- depending on which park you are at - Boma if you are at AK, 1900 if you are at MK

Tuesday- Garden Grill - it's great for food, character interaction (watch out if you get motion sickness though, it's a revolving restaurant)

Wednesday- Crystal Palace before the park opens rocks. You get to the rides earlier than everyone waiting in line

Thursday- Biergarten (My entire group did not love Chef Mickey's)

Friday- Ohana if you have already done Boma, if not Ohana

Saturday- Boma if you haven't yet and Kona if you have

I also have a reservation at SanAngel and Tusker House. San Angel is not good. Tusker House at Breakfast is awesome.
