Hi all.

We (DW and I) are planning a trip this November to DLP for the first time, travelling with my Sister, BIL and three little Princesses. DW and I have been to WDW twice but never DLP, the other five to DLP twice and WDW once.

I am trying my very best to get excited about the trip and go into super planning mode as I would have done on the two WDW trips but I am haveing a little difficulty.

I feel very ungratfull, spoilt and scruge like, but I can't get out of my head that I'm going to be dissapointed and wont be able to stop compairing it to Orlando, which we love.

So if you guys could please help me out, I need a shot of pixie dust and for you lovely people to sell me DLP. Please tell how amazing it's going to be, has anyone been at Christmas, how magical is it?

Please help me, I feel so down on the trip, when I know I should be excited and feel lucky to have the oportunity to go - spoilt brat!

Thanks all

Crim

It's absolutely gorgeous :cloud9:

No it's not WDW, but it's still a wonderful place - just a very different Disney experience. The Disneyland Park is the most beautiful and detailed Magic Kingdom of them all. :goodvibes

This is another thing I love about DLP - there isn't really any need to go into super planning mode to have a great holiday there. A little bit of forethought helps obviously but, on the whole, DLP can be a more laid back way of doing Disney. :thumbsup2

You cant compare them as it is truly a different experience. I have been to WDW and do love it but I enjoy my trips to DLP as much.

Disneyland Park is beautiful at Christmas time. I find it a more enjoyable pace than WDW. DLP is celebrating it 15th Anniversary this year so you will get to see a new parade, the decorated castle as well as all the Christmas decorations.

In my opinion DLP has a faster and better Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. There is also some fantastic places to eat.

So dont compare the two and you wont be disappointed.

This is good advice :thumbsup2

Remember that many of the origins of Disney stories are set within European fables. Come to DLP knowing that its castle had to shine since Europe has many great chateaus and castles to which it would be compared.

I'm sure the detail and history will captivate someone with an interest in a Disney park :goodvibes

(I thought I would never say this...but I'm already planning another trip to DLP...don't know when, but my DH who never cared for diensy things...is accepting the idea little by little !! :-) :rolleyes1

I went to WDW first and wouldn't even consider DLRP because I thought it would be a poor relation. :scared1: Well, how wrong could I have been! As soon as I stepped foot inside the place I fell in love with it.

We have been at Christmas and it truly is wonderul! :cloud9:

As the others have said ~ don't compare and you will have a wonderful time!

Here's some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for you so you can start looking forward to it! :wizard:

Thank you guys and girls.

Feeling better about the whole thing, you are all clearly struck on DLRP so I am ready to be converted also.

Spent quite a bit of time (more than I want my boss to know about) looking through dlrpmagic and a few other sites, and it all does look a lot better than I was thinking.

Plus, going during the 15 years celebration means new rides, parades, etc.

So thank you again, now not so scroogy.

BTM and POC are both much better in DLP than WDW. It is a different experience than WDW and they both have good points and better points.
The castle is much prettier than WDW and of coursr you have the 15th anniversary to celebrate.
Dont worry have fun and enjoy yourself:santa:

Glad you are feeling a bit happier. I am sure you wont be disapponted. These boards gave me a lot of tips on where to eat and things to look out for that I may not have bothered with myself so if you have any questions ask away. They are a very friendly bunch :)
