Please pass the Prozac...............

EEk!! After reading that.
tell MIL she should call your cousin. let her decide. yup.

All you can do is avoid the subject as much as you can.
If she brings it up any questions about it again. I'd say "dosen't it tell you that on your invitation?" Then if MIL says I didn't get one, then say "You better call "insert cousin's name" for the details" This way the pressure is off you, and your cousin can uninvite or invite her to the wedding.

Or you can just tell her straight out but nicely that you feel uncomfortable taking her without an invite because this is not your affair, so its not your place to invite her.
She definatley isn't going with me! The wedding is a little over an hour away and D.Jay and I are going to go ourselves.

Tough one....but speaking for myself (I got married in 2006) I would be PO'd as a Bride if someone came to my ceremony that I didn't invite. I'm sure your cousins took great pains to figure out who was on what invite list....it's not easy. And then there's the problem later when maybe someone else who wasn't invited to the ceremony (but would have like to have been) gets wind that she was there and now wonders why she was allowed to be there when they weren't.
Can you tell that I had something similiar happen at my wedding? But I'm not still bitter 2 1/2 years later, no really I'm not !
sounds like you had a fun time youself!;)

I think I'm going to try to avoid the subject............but since she lives with me that might be a little difficult. I really don't want to hurt her feelings, but on the other hand it drives me nuts.

does she not understand that that's how your religion does things? i didn't know if she practiced the same religion as you do or not.

She is the same religion...........she just likes to invite herself to things. She recieved an invitation to the reception, the wedding invitation is seperate with the time and date.

oh, okay. then i would just let it be, especially since your cousin (i think you said) said it was okay. i thought maybe if she didn't understand how things worked that a nice explanation would be in order, but i guess that's not the case! good luck!

Oh Poor Cherie !! In a way it says sooo much for you that she lives with you and thinks of your family as hers as well!!It'salso nice that your family tolerates her joining in without any hard feelings 1 So you are Blessed . aMIL who obviously thinks her son's wife aand family are A OKay!! and a family who loves you and includes your MIL in family things without any real hard feelings ! Tricky situation yes but every cloud had a silver lining . You obviously are LOVED!!

Ok. Take all I said. Throw it out the window.

Rosie, you're so sweet! Thanks for ptting that into perspective for me.

You are welcome Cherie !! You have no idea how many times your cartoons have brightened my day as I go back and chuckle time and time again !!

Oh yeah... I'd definitely have to say either suggest she directly contact your cousin or hand it off to your DH- that's a sticky wickett it is!

I'm leaning towards not saying anything at all. I hate these kind of situations!

I've been successful (I'm sure that's spelled wrong) at avoiding mil and the wedding question. I've been hacking away with fluids running from my nose all week, so she doesn't want to come near me. I spend my time laying in bed untill I HAVE to get up to do something. Needless to say, my house looks like a hurricane hit.

All I want for christmas right now, is a nose vacuum. Do they make those?

Yikes!! I think it was she who suggested that to me on my old TR after being sick last February. I was all excited until I googled it and realized what I'd have to do! :scared1: :lmao:
