We currently have made reservations at WDW for this summer. We thought {IF} we could get decent airfare we would come out to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH instead this summer. We were thinking of doing an offsite first and finishing at a Disneyland Resort last. What suggestions could anyone offer about the Stovall's Inns in Anaheim? Such as what out of the 3 that we know of would someone pick? We are coming with 2 girls ages 10 and 12. The only 3 we know of are the STOVALL'S INN, BEST WESTERN PARK PLACE, and the ANAHEIM INN. Any and I do mean any info. on these 3 hotels would be greatly appreciated! We have never stayed at the new hotel ,the Grand Californian at Disneyland and would like anyone's thoughts on what they think of this new resort. Thanks for everything, Chip&Janet.

I can't help you on your three off-site choices but I can say that the people I have talked to who have stayed at GC don't have a very high opinion of it. They complained of small cramped rooms and that it wsan't worth the amount charged. DL hotel has been remodeled and from personal experience are very nice with much bigger rooms.

I would recommend BW Park Place Inn, which is directly across the street from DL.

I would NOT recommend BW Stovall's which I believe is the one that advertises the "topiary garden." Rooms were in pretty bad shape there. It's pretty close, but still a walk compared to Park Place.

Carousel Inn is not bad, it's also across the street from the entrance.

Howard Johnson's is a little farther away than Park Place (also on Harbor Blvd.), but still walking distance, and there are also shuttles. We've found that to be very reasonably priced, and consistent in service and quality.

Park Place is probably the most convenient and nicely appointed, but they are also a bit more pricey.

I stayed at DL Hotel a few years ago and wasn't that impressed. I've heard that GC is very nice though.

Bump!! Please if anyone is reading, give us all the suggestions you can give! Thanks, Chip&Janet.
