Why do people think they are the only ones on a ride or watching a show?

I had a lady next to me who kept saying "uh-oh" to her child at Philarmagic as Donald was going for the hat; the show is made for kids, the kid gets it without the help from Mom. Later, she was singing the songs to her kid...:headache:

On Pirates, the guy behind us couldn't shut up talking out loud to his daughter. Happens on so many rides.

Talk very quietly so others can't hear.

During shows it aggravates me. But only if they are being REALLY obnoxious on rides(too loud, swearing) does it bug me.
However, this reminds me of my first MNSSHP. We were on the ride and behind us there were three ppl dressed like pirates...We got stuck on the ride for about 20 minutes. Right in front of the skeletons after Davy Jones...Well, the three pirates were re-enacting scenes from the movies! Kept everyone on the boat entertained while we waited for the boat to start moving again...If they were doing it while the ride was going I probably woulda shot them a dirty look(hopefully they would see it in the darkness:lmao:) but was thankfull because they helped keep my then four year old entertained...

Flash photography on dark rides. THAT'S what bugs me.

I'd rather have that than people texting on dark rides.

A guy in front of us was using his video camera at the start of the ride with the screen shining back but he turned it off as we went through the first turn on POC. Definitely would have been irritating.

That is my pet peeve.

Eh, there are hundreds of people in a show...which is made for small children. I think it's unreasonable to expect people to be quiet. Which is why it's obnoxiously loud.

Especially since nothing will come out. It's way too dark. Last year I was at Disneyland and they actually stopped PotC because people were taping it. Made an announcement and everything. Some Asian family was videotaping the whole thing. *********s.:headache:

I'm good at blocking out people talking. I think it's sweet she was trying to get her kid into Mickey's Phillharmagic :)

I was on Splash Mountain my last trip and a father daughter were behind me and my fiance and he was telling her every turn before it happened... alot would be annoyed but I thought it thoughtful to keep his daughter's apprehension low.

To each their own I guess, talking doesn't bug me its the cellphones thats get to me.

yes I hate when people talk the whole way thru things. The kids get it they don't need you telling them everything! One or 2 comments ok but not all the time.

And no flashes on the dark rides! or videotaping actually because it is annoying, it is either in someones way or the screen is irritating. A quick text I can deal with but your long phone conversation can wait until you are off the ride!

I have a feeling this one's going to go on for a while.

Sadly, common courtesy is becoming an anachronism.

for me its the flash photography.

And while were at it, Politics does not need to be "shouted" at the Hall of Presidents, :headache:

In May 1987, I was a clueless newbie and took flash photos of EVERYTHING.

If you were there those days, I give you my sincerest apologies. I still cringe thinking about what a dolt I was. (But man I treasure those photos!)

If anyone annoys me these days with cell phones or cameras, I kind of see it as payback. :littleangel:

Actually, some kids *don't* get it, and without parents whispering/telling our kids extra stuff, or even just saying it in our voice vs mickey's... it helps our unique children 'get' it. :goodvibes

I do try to not be overly loud, but she needs to be able to hear me and I am just trying to make sure she enjoys it, not worrying the whole time 'why' this or that.
:wizard:

Last trip had a pair of 20-somethings talking loudly on their cell phones through the entire Canada movie. Totally ruined the show.

It would never occur to me to be annoyed with a parent talking to a child during Philharmagic. First of all, it's geared towards kids, right? Of course there's going to be talking. Second.. that show is so loud, I'm amazed that anyone could hear another family talking. And thirdly.. many kids get anxious once an attraction starts and need to be talked through it.. I'd much rather have a parent calmly soothing their child than have to listen to a child freaking out.

Good luck with that. There really isn't any way to stop it. I have noticed that more people talk in movie theaters lately, too. Maybe they are used to watching movies at home where they can talk all they want.

I was up at the lounge at California Grill once watching the fireworks at MK, and a woman had brought her infant into the lounge to see out the window (they stood next to my lounge table) and she was apparently of the opinion that her baby would love to see the fireworks and he was really busy playing with a toy car and ignoring them. So the entire time she was talking to the baby, "Look! Look! See the fireworks? There are the fireworks! Look at the fireworks! Aren't they pretty? Look! Look! Look at the fireworks!" He was really just more interested in his car.

That kid was just a baby. I wish she'd let him play with his car and just watched the show herself. But she was determined to get him to watch it.

"Common courtesy" isn't quite so common anymore. Right here on the Dis people daily try and defend their "right" to do whatever it is. Or even better when they try and explain why they have to do what ever it is.:upsidedow
