please no pictures of half eaten food

I thought the wedding cake picture was awesome! I thought it was very cute, fork and all. Looks like y'all had fun, and that's what counts.

Heh, if I had a problem with seeing half-eaten food, I'd never be able to go to a restaurant or food court again.

My opinion (not that you care, but I'm giving it anyway), it doesn't usually bother me to see half-eaten food. I honestly think it does sometimes help to see what it looks like during the process because you can make things look really good on a plate, but as soon as you take a bite, cut a piece off or even pierce it with a fork, it can totally change how you feel about the food. It's just like the pictures you find on boxes of frozen meals, they never look the same when you cook them up as they do on the pretty picture on the box.

Again, we all have our opinions, but I don't think you can tell anyone that they can't post a picture of any food eaten or not eaten. Sorry if you don't like the looks of something that's partly eaten, but until the DIS iteslf says to stop posting half-eaten pics (and I doubt they ever will), you'll just have to live with it or avoid the food pics thread.

just a friendly remnder, you can have differing opinions, but you cannot attack other posters for their opinion.

thank you and carry on

Maybe you can tell everyone exactly how you'd like them to write their reviews, too? ;)

I look at it like this - the people who are posting here are doing us a favor by feeding our addiction. I thank them all for taking the time to share their experiences with the rest of us because it's certainly not something that anyone has to do. :goodvibes

Oh, and by the way ... I really hate mushrooms so if the rest of you out there could refrain from posting pictures of food with 'shrooms I'd personally be very grateful. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm with you on that one! Great post!!!:lmao:

:thumbsup2 I totally agree!!!!

I hope that the K-Man and I will be allowed to post into the "everyday people" thread, even though we DO eat at V&A and the Bistro. Cause as most know....we've been known to haunt the Pop Food Court and Rosie's and Casey's too!

I don't want to get stuck in the snob thread as the air in there gets a little thick.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Nah, you're allowed to join the rest of us "trash"!! Maybe, you can wear a ripped t shirt or "wifebeater" under your jacket to V&A? ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl:
My food porn may be half eaten from ths trip, as the rest of my family is not as well trained as my mother ("Heather, do you want to take a picture?") :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sorry-i'll put warnings in my posts.

Ya'll post your souffle from V&A and your cup of cheese sauce from Casey's. Don't forget to take photos of the buffet line either. Oh, and I don't care if Grandaddy has eaten 1/2 of his steak before you snap the photo! Keep posting.

Only one suggestion, when you are taking photos don't get the camera so close to the plate that it ends up blurry. Pull the camera back and if you feel like it is too far, use a little zoom, but let the focus work. We want to see those half eaten churros nice and clear :rotfl2: Oh yeah, don't forget to use the flash if it is too dark :)

Ahhhh...JUST wait till we do the V&A review from Easter Sunday.....lets just say you'll get MORE info about Mister Disney and the K-Man than you might want!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We're finishing up the Jiko review this weekend....just that dumb little Dwarf Happy is taking his sweet time!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The whole idea of this thread is kind of disturbing. People put a lot of time and effort into doing trip reports and dining reviews. If you don't like the pictures, do not look at them. It just seems pointless to criticize someone because their idea of what should be included in food porn isn't the same as somebody elses. I say Bravo for the effort and keep it coming!

I agree that as long as the food doesn't look totally mauled or regurgitated--it often helps to see the inside of the item once a piece is cut away. The wedding cake photo shown above is a good example of this. I based my purchase of two custom cakes--not on the outside--but the photos I saw of the inside of some cakes. Seeing the inside of a food item gives you the idea of if it's dry or what other ingredients may be hidden underneath the exterior. I say keep all the food pics coming!

Elizabeth, a cheeseburger or steak cut in half is OK as long as both parts are shown, but if 1/2 is gone, that is gross? What if it's a really neat cut?

To each his own, but do you not look at your food while you eat it?

I would think that would be obvious...the OP is asking the posters who write the reviews to not include pictures of half consumed food. It only makes sense to make the request that pertains to reviews on the board where the reviews are actually posted.
But there are also many pictures on the main board too, like the food porn thread, which has many pictures of half-eaten food.

Totally agree. No one has to spend their vacation taking pictures of food and therefore I'm grateful for whatever pics I can get. I love reading the dining reviews, whether they be of V&A or Peco Bills, and enjoy all types of food pics, including those where the person has only remembered to take a pic part way through their meal. They all help me plan my own dining.

There's plenty of other stuff posted, that I don't enjoy or have no interest in, but I would never think that I have the right to tell people not to post it?:confused3

You should have seen it, it was a fabulous experience. It was myself, my husband, and our 16 year old daughter. We all sat on a bed at the hotel, in our wedding clothes laughing and eating cake. Sharing memories of that fabulous day! Of course, we had to take a picture of how we 'killed' the cake.
We had a cake once that was messed up, because somebody had forgotten to take the paper off between the layers, so they couldn't sell it, and they couldn't take it apart without messing it up, so they told us to grab forks, and go at it. It was so much fun, I think there were five of us just eating it up, and we ate about half of it.

Lots of people post their pictures on this board. It's easy to post the pictures. It's a lot more work to write a review to go with them. So, the message is for people on this board.

And, I agree with the OP. No more pictures of half-eaten meals. And, enough with the pictures of run-of-the-mill burgers, fries, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and whatnot.

If you want to post pictures of your V&A courses or your Bistro de Paris dessert, great. That's sexy food porn.

If you want to post pictures of your half-eaten food court burger on a paper plate piled high with onions, with fries and ketchup on the side, don't. That's gross food porn.

Post only if the food is unique, interesting or especially artistic. Sorry, your food court pancakes do not qualify.
I like looking at all food pictures, and I will still be posting my pictures of burgers and fries, just as much as I do my pictures from CA Grill.

:lmao: I'd be posting on the everyday food thread too, since I'll have my Dole Whip right before dinner at CA Grill.

I agree with this, though I don't mind when blurry / dark pictures are posted, it's just easier to look at and identify if it's not blurry or dark. I don't know who would take a blurry pic on purpose though. :lmao:
