please no pictures of half eaten food

My favorite picture of half eaten food is from our disney wedding this past january. There were only three of us, so there was a lot of left over cake. All we had in the room was 3 forks, and a box of cake.. the result:

Now that's the way to eat a cake!! :thumbsup2

You should have seen it, it was a fabulous experience. It was myself, my husband, and our 16 year old daughter. We all sat on a bed at the hotel, in our wedding clothes laughing and eating cake. Sharing memories of that fabulous day! Of course, we had to take a picture of how we 'killed' the cake.

OMG - do you know you have a *gasp squid crawling in your siggy? :scared1:

- and I just thought, the OP does have a right to their opinion, and it has made several of us consider our pics for future reviews - and

some people dont read any of the other restaurant threads - but they do read and post here! (not that I'm a mod, but I do respect the time and effort they put into their jobs!! :worship: Thanks for letting us play - its nice to have fun once in awhile)

I prefer to think of the squid as pre-eaten calamari!

The half-eaten cake is gross, even if it was your wedding cake! Show us a picture before you dove into it,or don't bother.

That looks absolutely disgusting. :scared:

I am guessing it is good, right? Like real cheesecake?

ACTUALLY, our experience was it did NOT taste good.....

here is a clip from our Easter Sunday Pop Century Food Court review from 2006......

For Dessert...yes dessert.....doesn't EVERYONE have dessert with breakfast?!?!?

We decided to try the POP's tie-died cheesecake

Lets just say it is NOT NY Style Cheesecake!

the bottom layer, which appears marroon in the picture is actually cake. In my mind, it is a strange combination for someone who is used to "crumb" bases to cheesecakes. Kevin and I had a lengthy discussion about the various colored layers of cheese cake and final ruling is that they do NOT have individual flavors. When we were tasting them, we thought maybe they did, but it was obvious that it was our minds playing tricks on us and we hadn't even been drinking yet! :drinking1 :drinking1

Overall? I didn't really care for it. I definitely didn't like the cake as the base, and the cheescake part of it, just wasn't creamy like I enjoy it. The cheescake part of it had a grainy texture.

Also, I expected the foodcoloring to change our tongue color, and it didn't! I was disappointed in that! I was expecting this to be a "kid" friendly sort of thing...and kids LOVE to have their tongues colored!

And, I agree with the OP. No more pictures of half-eaten meals. And, enough with the pictures of run-of-the-mill burgers, fries, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and whatnot.

If you want to post pictures of your V&A courses or your Bistro de Paris dessert, great. That's sexy food porn.

If you want to post pictures of your half-eaten food court burger on a paper plate piled high with onions, with fries and ketchup on the side, don't. That's gross food porn.

Post only if the food is unique, interesting or especially artistic. Sorry, your food court pancakes do not qualify.

Sorry but I beg to differ...I want to see everything, burgers or pancakes or chicken strips vs nuggets....I want to see it and hear all about it because it helps me plan!

While I know that we are not going to try V&A I still enjoy the reviews and pictures.

You might not want to read my next dining review because it is going to be more of the same, Tonga toast, Cosmic Rays chicken and "goodness forbid, a hot dog from Caseys! :scared1: etc....:goodvibes

Lots of people post their pictures on this board. It's easy to post the pictures. It's a lot more work to write a review to go with them. So, the message is for people on this board.

I couldn't disagree more. I like to see what I'm getting for the meal...portion size, greasiness level or lack thereof etc. I say, keep posting pictures of anything at WDW that helps immerse me in your experience!

if all we got were pics from V&A and Bistro de Paris....BORING!:lmao: and not to mention short. :rotfl:
Alot of folks have a burger or pancakes from the food court and then post it here. This is a thread for "food reviews" not "food pick and choose what you show".

lighten up this is a Food Porn Thread, not just "sexy food porn":confused3 its the good the bad and yes sometimes the ugly!:goodvibes The fact that we seen the half eaten wedding cake and she told us about the awesome memory that went with it, I think thats great, that makes the reviews real and personal.

I love the reviews and the ALL the pictures that go with them. :dance3: just like any other post if it dosent intrest me I dont read it (or look at it in this case):rolleyes1

I don't agree ... I think it shows the fun that the poster's family had! :thumbsup2

I am one that likes all food porn regardless of grease, the plate it's on or if it is the 1000th picture I have seen of a dole whip! I have definitely made decisions to eat at certain restaurants based on the pics and cancelled others based on the pics.

So everyone, please keep up the great food reviews!

So maybe we need two food pic threads. One for the snobs and one for everyday people who take things for what they are worth and try not to insult other people by saying that their pictures that they thought would be entertaining and helpful to others are gross.

I hope that the K-Man and I will be allowed to post into the "everyday people" thread, even though we DO eat at V&A and the Bistro. Cause as most know....we've been known to haunt the Pop Food Court and Rosie's and Casey's too!

I don't want to get stuck in the snob thread as the air in there gets a little thick.

This "everyday person" would still have to read your "fancy" reviews. I live vicariously through you guys!

Oh..let me clarify...I enjoy a good lobster bisque...I wouldn't care if I saw a half empty bowl of it. What do these people do when they are dining with other people, better not look at their plate!!

Why are you being so ugly about this and why do you care? If you don't like the reviews, move on. I don't usually respond to drama, but come on, leave your negativity elsewhere.

There are all kinds of people with all kinds of tastes on this board, and they all deserve to share their reviews. I LOVE the wedding cake picture!

Love love love the wedding cake picture. What a great story to tell and what a great memory.

ElizabethB, sorry the pictures are not up to your standards. I say post any pictures you want. If you remember after you have already eaten some of it, so be it. It's food on a plate. It's not like taking a picture of baby bird food as it is being fer to them from the mother bird.

Oh, what flavours were in that wedding cake? And the tie dyed cheesecake is real cheesecake, just full of food colour. Granted it isn't very good cheesecake, but it is better than Burger King.

I LOVE the wedding cake picture. It almost looks like you just picked it up and bit off of it.

I still maintain there is sexy food porn and there is gross food porn. Half-eaten anything looks gross to me and I have to wonder why anyone would bother.

I don't happen to like gross food porn. But, much as with any other porn -- to each his own, I guess.
