please no pictures of half eaten food

all kidding aside I never ever thought about it, really! :confused3

most times when folks post "half eaten pics" they will say "sorry I forgot" or "I didnt get to it in time before dh took a bite" whatever the case, you know when you are there and starving and you have the camera ready and waiting and the family goes "oh mom come on, again with the food pictures" while half already started to chow and the other are just getting there dishes its a crazy time, BUT you know you gotta get the shot for all the folks at home and on the dis ;)
its a dis thing!:lmao:

but you know I will be paranoid this time taking my pics;) nah not really I will post any and all warnings I may need in the heading!

Cheers and good eating!popcorn::  :surfweb: :coffee: :stir: :cake: :drinking1 foodies unite!

no need to worry about my upcoming pics of Turkey Legs :lmao: we all tried them last time and well lets just say we dont feel the need anymore:goodvibes

In all seriousness, the only thing that kinda grosses me out is when there's pictures of people mid-bite on those turkey legs. Ugh. LOL

Otherwise, it doesn't bother me because half eaten food looks no different than my own half eaten food. LOL

Ok, I made a smarty-pants post earlier, but I admit the mutilated turkey legs gross me out too. I also love :lovestruc the Kitchen Sink, but am not a big fan of the "aftermath" photos of unidentifiable chunklets immersed in the melted sludge.

Once it becomes a photo its art and you cannot "limit the creative forces".

Besides half eaten kind of implies it was pretty good and oh my gosh, where's the camera, I need photos for my review!

I thank anyone who has enough restraint to snap the photo then follow through with posting it on DIS. We sure didn't get that far!

I agree with the OP on this one. It's kinda gross to look at peoples half eaten food. Especially with the dirty fork on the plate. Maybe that's not a popular opinion, but it's an opinion, we're all allowed to have one. (I think.)

I do appreciate the food pictures people post though, it has been super helpful. But I won't be posting mine unless they are un-eaten...it's kinda nasty. (JMHO)

Finally, a voice of reason!

I personally don't get grossed out by these things, however, if it bothering you, just skip over those.

Mongo no like pictures of dirty fork. It makes him MAD.

NO Chicken or Sauce
NO Dangling morsels, wipe all dripage
ALWAYS use the 6, 10, 12 plating arrangement, as well as take a tripod (no shakey pics.
And NONE, NO dipped, dunked, rolled, smashed, smothered or covered anything!!!

Whew...did I get it all? I will take my flip chart along so I can cover all basis!popcorn::

:lmao: Too funny:rotfl:

To be honest with you, I have never noticed if someone's food was half eaten. I recall many saying "oops, sorry I forgot to take the picture when the food arrived" kind of thing but never really noticed the food being half eaten. Now...I probably will.

no need to worry about my upcoming pics of Turkey Legs :lmao: we all tried them last time and well lets just say we dont feel the need anymore:goodvibes

I have always wanted to try one of these. Should I not try it this trip? :confused3

Maybe I'm uptight, but yeah - I get slightly skeeved checking out someone's half mauled skillet, or last smushed 1/8 of a sandwich. At least I'm free enough to review individual ingredients, so at least I have that going for me. Bring on the mushroom pics!!! ;)

I don't care if it's half-eaten, just make the plate look attractive. I don't need to see the mess you've made.

Tidy up, snap the shot, and all is good.

Like I said in my previous post, I don't care that it's here, I was just wondering why it's here over the main board.

I would think that would be obvious...the OP is asking the posters who write the reviews to not include pictures of half consumed food. It only makes sense to make the request that pertains to reviews on the board where the reviews are actually posted.

That would be similar to the question about is a glass of water half empty or half full.

Half eaten / half empty - pessimism

Half left / half full - optimism

I prefer to think of it that the food is half left, which means there is more to share with the food porn lovers here on the DIS!

lmao

Lots of people post their pictures on this board. It's easy to post the pictures. It's a lot more work to write a review to go with them. So, the message is for people on this board.

And, I agree with the OP. No more pictures of half-eaten meals. And, enough with the pictures of run-of-the-mill burgers, fries, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and whatnot.

If you want to post pictures of your V&A courses or your Bistro de Paris dessert, great. That's sexy food porn.

If you want to post pictures of your half-eaten food court burger on a paper plate piled high with onions, with fries and ketchup on the side, don't. That's gross food porn.

Post only if the food is unique, interesting or especially artistic. Sorry, your food court pancakes do not qualify.

I truly hope this thread does not stop people from having fun posting their pics when they get. EVERYONE is welcome to post their pics from their trips, write reviews of the meals, they can be lengthy novellas or short and sweet, ALL are welcome.

:thumbsup2

 WOW. Just wow.

My favorite picture of half eaten food is from our disney wedding this past january. There were only three of us, so there was a lot of left over cake. All we had in the room was 3 forks, and a box of cake.. the result:
