I think each section of the Podcast should be a seperate half hour show. Say 5 or 10 hours of podcast per week. Kevin has nothing better to do anyway

I appreciate the OP's opinion, mine just happens to be different.

I liked it a heck of alot better than any of the space shuttle stuff and since it was three minutes of rapid fire, I think it should stay. Just my humble opinion.

I listened to the reading of the birthday names ON my actual birthday. Now, how cool is that?!
I timed it. The actual reading of the names was only two minutes. Not too bad.

I like how much the DIS includes the fans in the podcast. There are alwasy new podcasts listeners, as there are always new DIS Board readers and posters. We were all new once. At least, I was!

I listen to a number of podcasts by groups of people. As a new listener, it takes time to understand the dynamics and the inside jokes. One podcast I listen to actually advised to listen to at least three before makeing judgement. Good advice.

Personally, it was not my cup of tea. I fast forwarded to the end of the segment and anyone else can do the same.

One thing that might be a good idea for the podcast down the line would be to start putting out an advance file. You would be able to "break up" the podcast into chapters and people would be able to jump from track to track if they wanted. Just an idea.

Not every segment is going to be for everyone.. not matter what the group does they will not please everyone all the time and good for them for not trying. I laughed so had when Theresa read the names... I would not say it was dry at all. Some are not going to care for the budget segment or the Andrew Zimmer Interview.. Heck I hate hearing it is warm and sunny every week in the weather but I have the choice to fast forward or not listen or suck it up and listen until the next part.

I guess what I am saying is keep up the good work. No disrespect to the original poster glad you expressed your opinion.. that is the good thing about the DIS.. we can don't have to all belive the same thing.. although I did refer to it as my cult earlier today

We have our own style of dress in the form of character shirts and special hats with mouse ears on them, we have our own "purgatory" where the dead die but never really go anywhere, (The Haunted Mansion) heh...

I saw this thread a few days ago, before I had a chance to listen to this weeks show. Reading the OP's post I expected Teresa to go on and on with a list or names.

When I finally got a chance to listen this morning, the segment was like maybe 2 minutes. BIG DEAL! I love the idea and hope Teresa keeps it up. This podcast makes its listeners feel like we're part of the family. That's what makes it special.

True, but those are necessities,you've gotta have food and you've gotta have gas for the car to get to work. Disney is a choice for adults, just like choosing whether or not to align yourself with a religious institution.

Which brings up yet another commonality-how we indoctrinate our children. My Dad took me to see Mary Poppins when I was 4. Winnie the Pooh was one of my earliest plush animals. I had all the Disney books, all the records and we watched Uncle Walt every Sunday night without fail.

And, of course, I was a good Disnetarian and raised my niece to love all things Disney from the time she was born. She's 24 now, would love that Disney wedding and she dreams of babies dressed in cuddly Disney clothes.

I don't mean to be offensive to anyone regarding religion-please don't get me wrong. I've actually done a lot of theological study in my life and the parallels are just to obvious for me to ignore-and they're kind of funny.

On the subject, though, I think the DIS Unplugged has an audience that is so large that if you included every birthday, you would be reading hundreds of names each week. But if you only include the people that follow particular podcasters on FB, then it should be a manageable list.
