DAYTONA BEACH -- George Anthony, Casey Anthony's father, has been found alive and well after being reported missing Thursday evening.
Anthony failed to show up at a meeting at his home Thursday afternoon with his lawyer Brad Conway.
That is when his family contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Office, who used GPS and pings off George Anthony's cell phone to locate him in Daytona Beach.
The Volusia County sheriff's office and Daytona Beach police were contacted to help aid in the search.
They found Anthony at the Hawaii Motel on South Ridgewood Avenue. He was safe and unharmed.
His lawyer said Anthony and the family are under a considerable amount of stress and there was concern Anthony may try to harm himself.
Anthony has been taken to Halifax Hospital's behavioral unit under the Baker Act for observation.
The Baker Act is also known as the Florida Mental Health Act and allows for involuntary examination by medical professionals.
Cindy Anthony is expected to go and see him at some point this morning.
News 13 will have live coverage this morning from Orange and Volusia Counties with updates on this developing story.

If she truly believed Casey was being wrongly accused, why try to alter evidence?

Oh I agree. But I don't think Cindy thinks like most of us do. Casey makes herself the victim and mom is right there nodding her head like she agrees that it's so awful for Casey.

I don't think it was the right thing to do and not what a logical thinking person would do.

I’ve been following this thread since the beginning but haven’t posted yet.

This is just so bizarre. Poor George. I honestly feel bad for him and Cindy.

NG is going to be interesting tonight.

Perhaps it was George that found Caylee's body-and then, knowing that his daughter did it-placed the body in the woods to try and protect Casey??:confused3

No, I do not think George found the body at all. I think it was Casey and only Casey that did everything. I think being an ex-cop he knew it had to be her, he knew it was coming to that conclusion. I think he is grieving something awful. Casey seemed to have a love/hate relationship with her mom, dad and her daughter. Also George being an ex-cop would know not to put things with her body and he would not put her so close to home to be found eventually!

Remember Casey said she felt she (Caylee) was real close? She knew she was, she put her there! I think George kept trying to convince himself it really wasn't her but then with all the evidence lately it is hitting him that it was his daughter Casey that did this to Caylee.

I don't believe George or Cindy physically dumped Caylee's body in the woods. They may be different well Cindy is but that does not make them murderers. Casey after she killed her probably gave a **** just long enough to wrap the blanket around her.

I agree. I think he would have gotten to where he is today months ago if he had. I think he was in denial for a while, but the mounting evidence got to be too much.

I agree also.

Yup, Casey will make it another pity party for herself and she will make herself out to be the victim once again :sad2:

This article broke my heart and made me shake my head. I will quote some parts:

"The Orange County Sheriff's Office released the incident report and the three-and-a-half-minute 911 call Conway made last night at the direction of Sheriff's Office Sgt. John Allen, the lead detective handling the homicide of Caylee Marie.

Conway told dispatchers that George Anthony left the Anthony home around 10 a.m. Thursday morning to go on a job interview. Cindy Anthony relayed that her husband had been "upset and depressed" about his granddaughter's death recently. On Wednesday Cindy had asked George to pick out jewelry for Caylee's funeral, which seemed to upset him more, reports show.

"We're worried that something is -- he's done something to himself," Conway told a dispatcher.

Conway gave the call taker a description of Anthony and his clothing."

She asked George to pick out jewelry for Caylee's funeral?? Jewelry for who? :confused3 There would be no reason to pick out jewelry for Caylee, that would have sent me over the edge.

"Around 10:45 p.m. George Anthony began sending text messages to friends and family stating "he did not want to live anymore and that he wanted to be with Caylee," records show. He also sent messages that said he "wanted to make sure Caylee was in God's arms." He would not tell them where he was."

  I hope he can get some rest and get help at the hospital.

Wow. That is really really sad. :sad2: Poor poor guy.

Maybe Cindy wanted jewlery picked out for herself? :confused3

The jewelry is for Caylee; I'm sure that that little girl had a lot of baby jewelry.

I thought so too. But it just occurred to me...to put on bones? But then again, those bones are their granddaughter. Maybe that's part of what put him over the edge...picking out jewelry for "what's left" of that baby girl.

I think I have gotten so caught up in the many bizarre aspects of this story over the months...one "weird" thing after another, just when you think it can't get any weirder...and now with George Anthony's condition, it has hit me again just how tragic and heartbreaking the whole thing really is. I've been thinking all day..."that poor man".

But I thought she was to be cremated so why would there be a need for jewelry?

Hhhmmm. Maybe just to put it in there with her? If it was something special to her? People put lots of things in caskets/boxes/urns. I don't know. :scratchin

Actually, there wouldn't be a "need" for jewelry to be put on bones either, even if she wasn't cremated.

Ugh. Awful subject. :sad1:

I get that but i was thinking more on the lines that they were going to buy something new. if it was something that meant something to her then I could see that. ok thanks :goodvibes

Actually, I thought it meant something new too, until I read cruellababy's response, and re-read the news article, altho it still could be something new. Maybe if they were purchasing something special...an engraved locket? With a picture of her mother in it? I don't know. It's curious.

I lost it when I had to pick out a casket and everything else for my mom when she passed away from a heart attack, I can just imagine how bad it is when you know your child had killed your grandchild and all that remains are her bones

Poor George. I really can't imagine. Very few people really can.

I hope he gets the help he needs and finds peace. I really hope he had nothing to do with helping Casey or whatever..I really don't think he did. I think they were clinging to hope a little TOO much.

This case just gets more and more strange. I feel sorry for George, I think it all just got too much for him, and Cindy probably didn't help much. If they were having issues before, think what this must have done to them.

I also don't get the whole jewelry thing at all. Kids jewelry is usually plastic or cheap, with the heat of cremation it would just be destroyed. Was it jewelry for Cindy to wear or was it something she wanted to buy to give to casey since she couldn't be at the funeral??? Strange.

I don't think it's odd at all to pick out jewelry for Caylee's burial or cremation. We pick out a nice suit, or a nice dress when we bury our beloved adult family members don't we? Such a morbid topic, but if I had to bury or cremate a loved one, I would certainly include a token of jewelry from their collection.
