Ok, just to remind you, we are having Custom VR, 12/28/06, Ceremony at UK garden, Reception - Mad Hatter Party on Boardwalk Lawn. 18 people, all of whom are "in the wedding party" - which means I am dressing all of them.

I was originally thinking to spread the colors around - give one guy a green vest and tie, another guy a blue vest and tie, and have their girls match their color. I want multi-color flowers, all the alice colors in pastels. I did a mockup of this on paper and it looked like a weird rainbow.

Here's my most recent idea, but I need you guys to tell me if it's gross or cute. I would still like multi-colored flowers.

Please tell me what you think!

For the little boys and girls, (4 girls, 3 boys)

Is light blue and brown too weird?

Thanks,

Susy

Not this exact dress, but these colors

Something like this, but different color flowers

no i dont think it is too weird. It all depends on your taste! I think the first picture of the little boy and little girls outfits reminds me of the kids in The Sound of Music (which happens to be a great movie!). If you like it- go for it- dont worry about being weird... worry about it being something YOU will love.

First of all - wow you are dressing 18 people plus yourself - you go girl :cheer2:

The brown and blue combination is very popular in home decor right now. If you go to a shop that sells bedding, pillows, window treatments, etc. you will see a lot of brown and blue together. I think it's a very elegant combination.

As Maggimus said though, you have to go with what you love! Decide on colors, fabrics, and designs you will want to remember and see pictures of the rest of your life!

I like it a lot and the little people cloths...priceless

You guys are helping me feel better about it.

I'm not good enough on photoshop to do it and post it online, but when I cut and paste on paper, the blue and brown looks REALLY pretty with the pastel flowers.

I used the bouguet from the first page at disneyweddings as an example.

I love the idea of all the grownup girls in a different style brown dress, or brown with blue trim, etc.

Thanks for being supportive, I like the way it looks, it just seems different/alternative/something ???

I agree about the sound of music - shorty boys pants, only one little nephew will be wearing that, my two boys will be in the bigger boys outfits, my baby girl in the little short dress, and my three nieces in the big girl dress.

I think the colors will be beautiful. The one thing I would do is check with my floral manager to determine what colors will be used, especially since it is christmas time. We had pastel colors, and the flowers for the garden festival turned out to be red. I don't regret my color choices, but it is somthing to think about!!!!!! Also, I did ask if they would change them for me....I was told no =) Just maybe something to think about.

One of my dear friends just had her wedding in July and used light blue and brown for her color scheme. It looked beautiful in person! I like this idea better than the idea of having each person wear a different color just because I think it looks a bit more uniform this way. You could also do some bold flowers with this color scheme and it would look very nice.

I think the color scheme you are looking at is beautiful. I really like the bridesmaid dress!

I like the brown and blue color scheme. As Jen said, it is very hot right now--very trendy and popular. I think it is a rich color scheme, and could look really WOW with the right flowers. Truthfully--multi color flowers in December--hmmm--not sure about that. Brown and blue is a rich color combo, I personally think the multi colors are too Spring.

I like those flower colors, too, but since we are getting married this December, it just won't look right in my opinion. Having said that, WHAT DO I KNOW? What you want will probably look great.

Wouldn't blue hydrangea bougets look nice, maybe with a chocolate satin ribbon? Might be an inexpensive, luxe look without it costing a fortune (since you have so many in your wedding party.) Your flowers could be ivory or white roses, with blue hydrangea for your something blue, or all white with a blue satin ribbon.

Sorry-- I get carried away... :cheer2:

Good luck! Let us know what you decide!

I agree JandJ...the brown/blue is very elegant, and I love pastel colors...it should be beautiful!

Thanks to everyone for their opinions, they are soooo many ways to go, I was having trouble committing. :)

Jonette - what a great thought - I need to check and see how those two garden areas will be "planted" - I hope it's not all pointsettas! Thats would ruin my color scheme completely

Maybe I should not do pastels flowers....

Very nice color combination! :thumbsup2 I'm having a fall wedding so I chose a lot of brown...but I was unable to convince my fiance to wear an all brown suit...and it turns out that touches of brown added to a dark charcoal suit look even better!

And I originally wanted to stay with just a few colors, but ended up embrassing the entire spectrum of fall colors...browns, oranges, yellows, burnt reds, woodsy greens.... I just couldn't turn those colors down. :teeth:

I'm not doing the browns and oranges, but if I were, I love the mix-it-up style and colors in this group photo.

I thought I was just posting the group photo, not a whole advertisement

Sorry,

Susy

p.s. this bride is not in any way affiliated with "after hours tux" - I'm using gingiss for our VR :rotfl2:

What about mostly pale blue flowers with just a few touches of the other colors you like, the pinks and stuff? There are pink roses that have an almost cream base--that could be pretty.

I know what you mean about so many good choices--it does make it hard to pick, but I think you should go with your vision and not be too influenced by us.

I still like the brown and blue thing; it's different.

I love those colors together! I was thinking of the same add when you put up the first few pics. It will look very elegant (but not stuffy).
As far as flowers, what about using mostly (or all) cream/white flowers? They would pop against the browns, and still coordinate with everything. And you would have one less color combination to worry about, especially if the planters are full of Christmas reds and greens.
Good luck!
