Hello everyone! & to my January '14 pre-trip report! DBF & I will be enjoying our third trip together January 4 - January 12, 2014. Our trip is over a year away & I can't think of anything BUT Disney! So what better to do than write a PTR in a place where many other people share your same love/insane obsession with the most magical place on Earth! Let's get onto the introductions

My name is Mandy & I'm a 25 year old Disney loving nerd!

DBF, Matt, is my wonderful love of close to 3 years He is 23 & likes older women
We met at work & the rest is history.

It all started way back in 2011 Matt wanted to take me to WDW since I had never been. We decided we would take 1 trip before we settled down & had kids. He had absolutely NO idea what he was getting himself into! I fell in love. Hard. The only thing I could think about upon returning from our week trip was 'When can we come back?!'

We took our 2nd trip this past August & I am currently planning our third trip together! Both of us will graduate from college in about 2 years & finally settle down. I know that this will probably be the last Disney trip for a 'while'. We shall see how long the definition of a 'while' is in the years to come

Disney Movie Night Countdowns


I have been wanting to do themed Disney movie nights ever since I came across the idea on the boards. This year I decided we would finally give it a go!


We are going to do 1 movie a month until our trip in January

We will be having our very first movie night in just a few days!


I really like the idea of saying 'Only 11 more movie nights until our trip' rather than 'Only 365 days until our trip!'

This is my 3rd trip and I feel like I do know a lot from the crazy amount of research I've done! I am so excited to share this journey with my amazing boyfriend and hopefully one day, children

Disney Movie Night Countdowns


Sorry about the wait! I lost my camera so I've been delaying this post. But without further adieu...... our first movie night theme was

The Princess & The Frog

This movie has a special place in my heart because I was born in New Orleans

Here is a picture of our menu!

Unfortunately Matt doesn't like gumbo or seafood. You'd never believe that he was born in Louisiana!

The main dish, Mama Odie's Jambalaya with Chicken & Conecuh sausage

& Charlotte's Corn Muffins

For dessert we had Tiana's King Cake! I had a way better picture on my phone & then Matt accidentally broke it. I had to send it to Apple and wait for a new one

Luckily, I live in the South where we celebrate Mardi Gras. I've never attempted to make my own king cake because so many places around here sell them.

We will probably do our next movie night for Valentine's Day.

I was hoping to be moved into our new house by then but we are still deciding between a few.

I officially have only 332 days left. It seems SO far away but time is also flying! This semester is turning out to be crazy busy. The workflow in my upper level accounting classes seems to be never ending!

I did have some down time today and one of my favorite things is nail polish! I have one of those gigantic racks that you see at a nail salon and I have way more polish than will fit

I enjoy doing nail art every now and then & today I decided on a Toy Story theme

I love how they turned out! I also like any excuse to do anything Disney related

Our 2nd Disney movie night is coming up & I'm super excited about this one. I'm gonna leave y'all waiting in suspense though...

Just a quick real life update.... Matt & I have found a house and our offer was accepted

We signed the contract today & our house inspection is tomorrow!

We've been looking at houses for a few months now & just haven't found the right home.

Fortunately it's a great time to buy a house

It's crazy to think that we will be paying roughly the same amount each month for our house that we pay for this little apartment!

I'm so excited so I just had to share!!
