Welcome to my very first PTR! I returned from my very first trip to WDW almost 2 months ago. I have since fallen in love ! DBF & I spent 8 days awesome days at the Pop. We also spent our 1 year anniversary at WDW :lovestruc I only planned our last trip 3 months in advance & everything went perfectly. I love planning though, and I'm super excited about the whole process! This will be our 2nd time together at Disney & we will be there for our 3 year anniversary!

Me - Mandy: I'm currently in school majoring in accounting. You can also find me at Publix as a Customer Service Staff! I'm only attending school part time, so I'll probably graduate in 2-3 years. I'm a big couponer, but I don't do crazy things like you see on the TLC show . When I'm not at work or school (which is rare) you can find me watching movies or playing video games. I'm a big nerd & so is the DBF!

Disney Favorites!
Character: Stitch
Movie: Aladdin/Peter Pan
Park: Hollywood Studios... which I call MGM & so does the DBF :)
Ride: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster/Expedition Everest
Restaurant: 'Ohana

DBF - Matt: Matt is attending the same school as I am & he's majoring in Computer Science (we're nerds, remember?). We met at Publix in April 2010 & he is also Customer Service Staff! When he isn't working or at school you can usually find him in front of his custom built computer :lmao:

Disney Favorites:
Character: Stitch
Movie: The Rescuers
Park: Epcot
Ride: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Restaurant: 'Ohana

Here's both of us at a Mardi Gras ball this past year

Hi there! I'm also from Alabama and we just got back from our 1st Disney trip! And I'm trying to plan for our 2nd trip in May or June 2012... haven't booked anything yet though. :goodvibes

Can't wait to read more about your plans! :thumbsup2

Hi there!
Looking forward to reading more about your plans. We will be there in May 2012 as well.:thumbsup2

Matt & I will be headed to WDW May 13 - 20, 2013! This is the first week after our final exams. The last trip we took was also around the same time. The crowd level was not that bad and the weather wasn't *too* hot yet! We live 1 state over so we are already used to the heat. :rotfl:

The dates won't be official until the trip actually gets booked! I'm waiting until at least a year before our trip to book it. I know that if you book your trip & then a good deal pops up that you can call & have them apply the deal but I really want to wait to see what kind of offers will be available.

DBF & I got the DDP on our first trip & we absolutely LOVED it. We saved $97.01 by using it as well. I wrote down what the oop price would have been for everything we ate just so I could see how much we saved. Now would we normally get dessert with every lunch and dinner? Probably not. But this is Disney & a days worth of walking around ensured that no food was ever leftover! :rotfl: We enjoyed almost all of the food that we ate the last time around but we really want to venture out & try new things this time! On our last trip we ate at the following places:

QS: Pizza Planet, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, Tangeriene Cafe, Starring Rolls, Backlot Express, Flame Tree BBQ, & Yak and Yeti

TS: Ohana, Boma, Le Cellier, Biergarten, San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo

All of the Quick Service meals we had were tasty. However, Tangeriene Cafe & Flame Tree BBQ were out of this world good! We will definitely be returning to those restaurants next May. That takes care of 2 of our QS credits & we still have 6 left!

Ribs, bbq beans & slaw from Flame Tree :thumbsup2

Ohana & Boma are the only musts from the list of our Table Service meals. Le Cellier was not worth 2 credits in my opinion. Our waitress worded what we 'should' order in an odd way & we got tricked into ordering extra. Guess we should have listened to her more thoroughly. It was also extremely crowded inside. :sad1: Biergarten was just downright awful! Just about everything we ate was bland and nasty. We definitely will not be returning anytime soon. The other meals were great but like I said before, we want to venture out and expand our Disney dining horizons!

Dinner & dessert from Ohana

So the big question is, where exactly do we want to eat this time around? I picked a lot of the above restaurants based on good reviews. A lot of the restaurants seem to get mixed reviews unfortunately. I've put together a list of places that both of us would like to try!

QS (8 credits!)
1. Flame Tree BBQ - 1 of our musts and really the only place at AK that sounds good to me. Yak & Yeti was just ok.
2. Tangeriene Cafe - Seriously some of THE best food we had last time!
3. Sunshine Seasons - I've read good things about this place & I love that you can get such a wide variety of food.
4. La Cantina De San Angel - DBF & I both love Mexican food & since we don't have a Mexican restaurant in our list of possible TS meals we decided we'd eat here!
5. Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe - I've heard good reviews & the food looks yummy! I also like that you can use a lunch credit on a $15 meal!
6. Pizza Planet - The pizza was pretty good last time & after glancing at the other options for QS at DHS I can't really find anything that looks that great. Backlot Express was ok, but I think we will just stick with the pizza.
7. Wolfgang Puck Express - We wanted to try something at DTD this time!
8. Be Our Guest - I know that this restaurant isn't open yet but I read on the disney blog that they hoped to do QS during lunch and TS at night. I was hoping to eat here at night but there is already a long list of TS we want to try.

TS (8 credits!)
1. Ohana - Like I said before, 1 of our absolute favorite places to eat! I think we are going to stick with dinner. I will try their breakfast one of these days though!
2. Boma - Another 1 of our favorites & just like Ohana, I really want to try breakfast here BUT I have to go for the dinner again based on how delicious it was last time.
3. The Crystal Palace - This will be our first character meal. I want to go for breakfast. I really just want to get into MK early and get a great picture of the 2 of us in front of the castle :lovestruc. Also, DBF isn't big on taking pictures with the characters unless he really loves them. He actually told me that he wants a picture with Pooh & Tigger!
4. Sci Fi Diner - This restaurant looks like so much fun! The food sounds ok, but I'm most excited about the atmosphere.
5. The Garden Grill - DBF loves Chip & Dale and has been asking to eat here. I do like the fact that the restaurant rotates!
6. The Hollywood Brown Derby - The menu looks AMAZING! & I've been dying to try the grapefruit cake
7. Yak & Yeti - DBF really wants to eat here. The menu looks good!
*Bonus* I almost have enough points on MyPoints to get a Rainforest Cafe gift card, so guess where we will be eating for breakfast one morning?! :cutie:

Sci-Fi does have a really cool atmosphere! I loved it! I thought the food was really good, I can't remember what I got 3 years ago when we ate there but it is a definite must do again at Hollywood Studios.

Im in! Ohana looks so tasty!

Can't wait to read more :)
It really is! The Polynesian resort is quite magical

Awesome! I'm really excited because we didn't do a sit down meal at HS last time!

I love Ohana! It is now my favorite ADR. We are trying Crystal Palace this time too. Sci Fi is a great place to eat. DS will not let me forget to book it each trip.

If my husband said to me that he wanted a picture of himself with pooh and tigger I would die! He sounds like a keeper lol.

I did get him to stand in a 1 hour line for me to meet Pooh, though! Close enough.

I love reading about Disney food :goodvibes

He has the Disney bug too... just not so much at me :lmao: & reading about Disney food is the best!

I've been to Universal IOA once & that was before WWoHP. I've never been to the other park & DBF hasn't been to either. I was curious as to how much it would be & see that they are running a Buy 1 Day Get 1 Free special! Hopefully they will be doing this next year as well.

We decided to go ahead and tack on 2 extra days to do Islands of Adventure 1 day & Universal Studios the next! We will still be staying onsite, but we will have to do a split stay because of the dining plan. I'm not sure if I want to switch resorts at the moment. If we do switch, it would just be another Value resort. DBF & I have a goal of staying at every resort though.... so it works out great.

What is even better, in my opinion, is that I will have more than enough time to get some shopping done in DTD! We only spent about an hour there last time :sad1:. I also found out that not only do I almost have enough points for a $50 Rainforest Cafe gift card from MyPoints... I also have enough points through one of my credit cards for a $50 Rainforest Cafe gift card! We will be able to spend our last 2 days at Universal & still come back and eat at the Rainforest Cafe in DTD for dinner :woohoo:.

All in all, the only extra $ we will be spending will be on the room, tickets, and lunch in the parks. I checked out the menu for the Three Broomsticks and the prices didn't look bad at all. I'm glad I researched all of the info because I figured it would cost too much to add on 2 extra days at another park. We've been wanting to go to Universal for a while but we figured we'd do a separate trip at some point. I like the fact that we get to finally go when we go to WDW :cheer2:

Hi there! I am planning for 2013 too! Only I'm all the way in October! :lmao: We went in March of last year and I was planning for this year but DB got a new job...

I have to tell you the QS Mexican in Epcot is SO good! I love Mexican also and it is SO worth it! We also ate at the Brown Derby and it was also delicious! We took my nephew to Crystal Palace and it was such a good time and the buffet was so good with a lot of choices!

I have so many choices I want to try its hard to cut them out! I am thinking about doing the dining plan so its good to know you guys saved so much!

I will be reading along! :goodvibes

First of all :welcome:! & DBF & I will be there in October as well! We are only going for a short 3 day/2 night visit. I've been wanting to do MNSSHP for some time now. & I have the same problem with food choices too

$295.07/$3500 Disney Fund as of 2.27.12 :smickey:

I'm going to use this as a place to keep track of my deposits into my Disney Fund (so expect many edits ) & also how much I need to budget. Right now it's at $2500, however, that was before I decided to add on 2 extra days. We will see how things go :rotfl:. I will say that being a couponer definitely helps!

*Edit* Ok... so the budget has gone up to $3500. I've added in gas, La Nouba Tickets, Keys to the Kingdom Tour, Souvenirs, 2 days at Universal + lunches, & 2 extra nights at Disney. This will probably be our last Disney trip for a while since we are both graduating soon & getting married in a few years :lovestruc. So I really want to go all out!
