What are the things at DL and CA (other than rides, which I am very familiar with) that we absolutely should not miss with our 10 year old boy and 5 year old princess?

Things that come to mind after reading lately include

Jedi Training (although the kids on youtube look a lot younger than 10)
BBB
Build your own lightsaber

What else?

My daughter (11) went kicking and screaming to Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, and then loved it so much, she was willing to wait an hour and 1/2 for the next show so that we could sit in the front row. :)

DS9 and DS11 both really like Billy Hill. Fantasmic is DS11's all-time favorite show. DS9 loves the Muppets 3D movie in DCA. Your little princess might enjoy the Princess Fantasy Fair, the Tinkerbell and fairies meet and greet, the Rapunzel meet and greet, and/or the Princess Tiana show and meet and greet.

HOw was the food at Billy Hill? Seems like a good opportunity to get lunch and sit down, too.

Of course soarin' for everyone, pirates, jungle cruise is fun for those ages, we LOVED Tom Sawyer's Island. My granddaughter's loved lunch at Ariel's grotto. We saw all the princesses and they come to your table for a meet and greet and photo. It's a don't miss for your daughter.

Musical chairs at Coke Corner with Alice and the Mad Hatter. :goodvibes

At the PFF they do a Princess Storytelling time, you get to sit on the rug and hear her tell a story. Its really cute and fun, even for boys. You get to be so up close to them! They also have crafts in the arena throughout the day, and a performance on the stage where the princesses teach you to curtsy and bow and you all get to do a dance around the maypole. At least they did all of that the last time we were there...I don't know if they've changed it since then!

My boys love to:

making your own peanut butter & jelly sandwich at Carnation Cafe, having lunch at Blue Bayou & wave at the boats, having lunch at Hungry Bear and waving at the boats (again):lmao: & fireworks while drinking hot cocoa.

Are you going to DCA? DS - age 9 just discovered the Animation Academy and wanted to go through over and over again.

Farley the Fiddler. On the front porch of the Davy Crockett Pioneer Mercantile at the entrance to Frontierland. Monday thru Friday, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30. He's often a few minutes late, as he comes onstage near the Stage Door Cafe on the side of the Golden Horseshoe, and he often stops to entertain guests on his way to his usual location.

Your kids' ages will be fine for Jedi Training. (DLR's website says that it's for kids ages 4-12). My DS participated when we were there for his 12th birthday, and there were a few other kids his age also chosen, so you will see a mixture of some older kids along with the younger ones. Be sure to read the thread on Jedi Training for suggestions on how to help your kids to get chosen. :)

I realize you said no rides- but to me Astro Blasters is a game. My kids will do it all morning long. I also love Billy Hill- and the Mile high chocolate cake from the Golden horseshoe makes the perfect snack.

Definitely do Turtle Talk in the Animation Academy building, and sit down with them on the floor in front - you might get to talk to Crush. We all loved it. :)

I 2nd the Jedi academy and many other suggestions and add stoorytime in the boys bedroom at innoventions amazing.
