We'll have to see what everyone else's timing is, but I'm guessing by 90 days out everyone is going to know their plans. We can make Boma for 5:30 and Japan for 5:00 or so. That way if we get the cruise either day we won't have to change our ADRs.

Monica, I was thinking that too which is why I mentioned not needing park tickets for the cruise. Getting one is tough no matter what but I think it might be easier to get a Thursday one. I don't know this to be true but I would think if there's less people at WDW, there'd be less trying to book a cruise. But no matter what, it would give Kimmy 2 chances (Thursday and Saturday) instead of just one. That might increase the odds a bit. And if we don't get one right away, we can continue to check as people cancel them all the time.

Way to go, that's why you are in charge of this thing.

I will not be there in time for Boma on Thursday but that's fine. I've eaten there lots and won't be devastated if I have to skip that in exchange for the Illuminations cruise chance.

Do any of you know how late the Pop food court is open? I'll be starving when I get there and I will want to pick up something to eat as soon as I can.

I guess I'd better call and reserve a room this week. Kimmy, have you reserved for you and Missa yet? I know Monica/Michelle have. And I want to request preferred, right?

What time are you trying to arrive? Tell me what you like at Boma. I'll sneak it into my purse! I think the food court is open til 11:00pm or so. We don't have to do Boma. We just picked it over DTD restaurants.

The plan with the cruise is great! I will def do what I can to make sure we get one! I don't think Missa is going to be able to make it...... sad times. I will still be coming, and I think I would be okay just staying by myself. I usually turn the air down to the point that it snows so I should stay by myself.

Monica, thanks for the room info. I'll pm Michelle before I book. I don't know what time I'll get there; it depends on what airline carrier I end up going with. The earliest is 4:30 into MCO but most of the flights are between 5:00 and 6:00. By the time I get to WDW, that's another hour or so. I will not have had a chance to eat all day so I'll be starving. I'll probably check in, drop the suitcase and RUN to the food court as fast as I can. I'll just meet up with everyone later then. Do not change your dining plans on account of me. If we are doing the cruise, you'll have to eat before and no matter where you pick, I would still probably not make it. So go with BOMA and enjoy it.

Best thing at BOMA is the prime rib. They have sauces on the side; my fav is the mustard sauce. Seriously, I could eat an entire plate of just that prime rib. Between my big feet and love of prime rib, maybe I really am Fred Flintstone.

Kimmy, I'm sorry Missa won't be able to make it after all. I know you had mentioned she couldn't get the time off but I was hoping that would change. And I'm so with you on the solo room. No way could I share one. I'm too paranoid I'd do something embarrassing in front of someone else. I don't want everyone poking each other in the ribs and whispering about how loud I snore or something even worse than snoring.

Beaches does not take ADR's.

I forgot that the cruise booking was 90 days out - not 180. Ok - so we'll just make the ADR's for the earlier times and figure it all out later.

One thing I would mention about the cruises (and I'm not trying to play devil's advocate here, as I know Pakey doesn't think the Wishes cruise would be very good) is that if we can't get the Illuminations cruise, the Wishes one could be an alternative because they don't sell out as fast as they have a lot more boats for the lagoon area, than they do for the viewing area of Illuminations (I think 3 or 4 is max over there).

I'm sure with Kimmy's mad-reservation-making skills, we won't have a problem, but if we can't I would still love to do the Wishes one. The only thing you miss out (or so I hear, as I have never done it) IS Tink flying and the rest of it is fantastic - feel like you have the whole lagoon to yourself as all the boats are really spread out! The Illuminations one can run the risk of smokiness, if you are downwind - just so everyone knows. You are much closer to the "action".

Just an alternative plan if needed (Wishes cruise on Thurs night with onboard Lapu Lapus from the Poly and then Illuminations on Epcot night) - just a thought. Don't hate me for suggesting it! I will be happy with either one!

No, Monica, not two cruises! I was just suggesting the Wishes one as an ALTERNATIVE to Illuminations, if we couldn't get it. Those cruises sell out very fast as they only have like 4 or 5 boats I believe each night! The Wishes cruises have more boats due to the size of the area from which you are viewing the show! And yes, you see the ELP from the Wishes cruise, and they pipe in the Wishes soundtrack to the boat so you don't miss out on that either. (Like I said, I've been subscribed to that Illuminations thread for over a year now - never post, just read - and many Wishes cruise questions are asked/answered over there as well)

There is also the GG cruise, which has a party with Capt. Hook and Smee prior to the cruise, with dessert type foods. You get a special pin for that one so I hear!

I'm not as interested in the wishes cruise just because I think it's too pricey for how far away you are. When we watched wishes at the Poly we could see the boats and I was in shock over how far they were. They were closer to the Poly then the MK. I think if I pay that much I would prefer the Illuminations cruise, but I would still go if we can't get the Illuminations cruise and enough want to do it (to keep the cost down)

JK - I'm fine with whatever. Really, I am! Just heard more good things about the Wishes than the other! The exact reason you state is the reason a lot of people don't like the Epcot one - too close!

I'll spend my money wherever the majority want to spend it!

Monica, you're right. How much more embarrassing can I be after the moose picture. What was I thinking? Your post made me snort with laughter. Snort. You are one funny woman.

If we are lucky enough to snag an Illuminations cruise and don't fill it with our own group, we'll have no problem getting others to join us. When I got ours, in January, slowest month of the year, I had tons of requests to join our boat. All we'll have to do is post how many seats are available over on the thread and we'll fill it.

Sara, I posted a photo on my tr, update 4/23, taken from the boat for Illuminations which shows how close you are. You are no closer than the people standing on the railings (and the bridge right above the boats). The advantage is that you don't have anyone standing in front of you. I think part of the reason that these cruises are so much more popular is because it's harder to get a good viewing spot for Illuminations than it is for Wishes.

And I would be fine going on either or both. I've done both so I'm fine with it either way.
