OMG! Just when you thought you knew how to do everything with your job, they have you learn something new. I am fried today!

Just wanted to say hi to Heather  Glad you made it.

Hi Michelle

I'm here. ;)

I'm currently planning on coming on Thursday night and leaving on Sunday morning. But that depends on IF I get a teaching job and what kind of principal I have. I intend to call it a "personal" day, but who knows.

I have not decided whether I'm flying or driving. How long of a drive is it for you Sara? I don't suppose you go by way of Atlanta? Are we still planning to room together or did you find someone over here and I missed it? I would prefer to fly, but with our finances the way they are right now, I can't make that decision until I know something about jobs for me and Matt. Although at the rate it's going, it may cost me as much to drive as to fly anyway.

Hi Heather! I am still planning on driving - it's about 11 hours, but I can do it if it means I don't have to set foot on an airplane! :rolleyes1 I go straight down 95 until Jacksonville. How far would it be to get over a little farther east from Atlanta? I could pick you up. I might be picking up Nicole too, ;) somewhere around Raleigh! Seriously though, I will be in a Tahoe, so whoever needs picking up - I've got the room! I won't make you sit in a carseat or a booster! :rotfl: Promise!

I would love to room together. I was going to make the reservation this week probably. Once everyone has their rooms, maybe we can figure out how to have them link them together so we can all be sort of be near one another! Do they have connecting rooms at Pop? We might could even do that if possible. Then we can just leave the doors open and party like a bunch of teenagers!

Glad you finally made it over here! :yay:

Sara
BTW, Monica...that Lost comment had me :lmao:

Sara, can you pick me up too. I think somewhere north of Atlanta, you'd have to turn right. :lmao: Let me know, I could pitch in $20 for gas. :lmao:

Monica, way to go on the plane ticket. WHen I flew last weekend I was in the back of the plane, I couldn't stop thinking about Lost. I'm not usually afraid to fly but I was in the very last seat so I'd have been the first one sucked out.

I wish I was ready to buy too. I'm still playing the ticket market though and trying to come up with a way to make it a business trip. Also, I'm waiting to see if Tina is going to come or not before I book my room.

Kimmy - when I first read your post I thought is said you got "fired" today. My heart dropped there for a moment. Whew! Glad I just misread.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kimmy, I also thought you were fired today!

Sara I think you need to give them Michelle's name when you book. Connecting rooms? OOO how much fun would that be?! Not that we'll be there much!

Pakey, you crack me up.You're definitely coming though right? You want to room alone (cause you snore:rolleyes1) FYI, Delta.com was hundreds cheaper than expedia, hotwire or anyothers!

Yes Sara - you can reference my name and they will "try" to get us at least close. As it gets closer maybe it will help if we send a fax over with our request. I will PM you.

Pakey, you are hilarious. :rotfl2: I needed that. I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait to meet all of you.

Sara, I don't think it would be a problem to get me to you, my problem is the days. I was planning Thursday-Sunday and you're planning Friday-Monday I think? Haven't caught up yet. I could take Monday off instead of Friday, but probably not both (this is me assuming I'll have a teaching job, if I'm subbing I can do whatever I want...but I'm going with the teaching job assumption. Need that). And to get there in time for the party I'd have to be out of here pretty early Friday. We've got a while, though, to figure it out.

If I could find a really good rate I'd fly, but apparently my "really good rate" and you all's is different, because I'm consistently getting $230-$250 which is a lot to me, but Monica was really happy with $220. My problem is nobody but Delta apparently flies out of Atlanta. So I don't have many options.

Okay, I've got more catching up to do. Happy to be here planning with you all!

Heather - Erik flies from Atlanta to Orlando sometimes to meet us in Disney. He always flies airtran. You can sometimes get great rates - just have to keep checking. :thumbsup2

I also live quite a bit further away from Orlando than you, am very specific about my times, and live where one of the most expensive airports in the country is.

Heather, I'm planning on leaving Thursday morning to go to FL, so that wouldn't be a problem; however, I was figuring on staying Sunday and leaving Monday, so I'm not sure about the return. Of course, there is the option of leaving late Sunday, and getting a little bit down the road so I don't have as far on Monday. But I'm not keen on checking in late to a hotel room off I95 - I think I would feel safer staying at Disney and driving all the way back in one day.

Like you said, there's time to figure it all out. But definitely check Airtran. It's usually what I fly (when I have to). They have a direct flight from Newport News/Williamsburg into Orlando, but all the other ones always go through Atlanta.

Sara

I just found an Airtran flight for $150 but there is a layover each way. That seems so silly for a 2 1/2 hour flight. :confused3 But it gives me hope that I will find something reasonable!

Wow, Laura, $150. That's much closer to what I'm looking for. I figure right now I'm paying $60 to fill up my car and I would have to fill up at least twice to get there and back. If I can get a flight for cheaper than the gas, then flying is definitely the way to go.

My probably is, I can't plan on Monday or not until I know if I have a job...which could be a few weeks...or months.

Monica, I think you did great for your area. I just can't invest $200 right this second. Hopefully eventually, though.

Do we have any rules about "outsiders"? I think I might be talking my best friend into going. :goodvibes She lives in Gainesville, so it's not much of a drive for her.

So, you're dropping me as a roommate, Heather? Geez! ;)

JK - I'm sure someone else will come along. :sad2:

NO Sara. I'm not dropping you. I don't know if she's coming. I just suggested it to her today. We were talking and I just thought of it. We'll figure something out. And I don't want to lose you. We have a while, remember? Right? lol

Kimmy, I know I'm supposed to know what you mean, but I can't think of it right now.

So, we're all waiting to buy our party tickets right? They go on sale next week, so I was just checking. Anybody figure out our ADR setting date yet? Who's going to make them? Pakey can. I hear she likes getting up at 4:00am to call Disney reservation line!!
