Monica, I would kill for airfare at that price so I'd say jump on it. I honestly do not see that fares are going to go down much, if at all. I have been tracking for awhile now and Delta's prices dipped down once they announced the merge with NW so I think this may be as low as anything gets.

I'll be thrilled if I can get under $600. My worry is that my connection for the cheaper flights are in Salt Lake and I'm always concerned about weather in the winter. My fav connection is through Dallas but those flights are currently in the $800 range and I'm not willing to do that. I'm checking every day though.

Ok, I'm gonna book it so SOMEBODY better show up for this weekend! No backing out on me!!;) Kimmy, is there a chance that you would be on that plane? That would be cool!:thumbsup2

definitely book it and yes there is a chance i may be on that flight.

Ok, explain to me how this works and pretend you are talking to a child! I just book it on Delta.com. Do I need to pay attention to anything else besides dates and times? Should I pick a seat? Should I get travel insurance through them? I can't cancel right? I feel weird doing this so early, but I'd be kicking myself to miss out. Will I print out my ticket at home? (Please ignore my flying ignorance!)

Just make sure you have the right date and time. If they charge to choose a seat now just wait until you check in - otherwise go for it.
As far as travel insurance, I usually don't get it but that is just me.
I don't usually fly delta but with airtran and continental I can change a flight for a small fee if need be.
You only need to print your confirmation and that is what you will bring to check in. You can probably also check in online 24 hours ahead of your flight.

All right, I'm gonna do it! I'll book when I get home because Dave has my Disney Visa with him. Yay!!:yay:

Thanks for the info Michelle!

Monica, almost all airlines have etickets now. This is the easiest way. You print everything out online (it's really simple). On Delta, you select your seat when you purchase. Make sure you stop and do this, other wise they will most likely place you in a middle seat. Sometimes it's harder to change to a window seat if you do want to change it when you get there, so if that is your preference then do it. I am assuming you picked the flight arriving at 12:48?? If so there are lots of seats still available. That flight actually went up for me :( but I'm a late flight buyer, I like to gamble, not always the smartest thing

I thought it arrived at 12:56. Maybe not the same one?:confused3

Michelle, will it work for you since you're my chauffeur? I'd arrive at 1:00 on Thurs and would leave around 5:45 on Sunday. I'll wait to book til I hear from you.

Congrats Monica!

I think it's great you are able to get the ticket now. Kind of helps spread the cost of the trip out when you can do one portion of the $ now, and then another chunk later. Softens the blow!

Still can't think about flying...:rolleyes1 The open road is calling me! :lmao:

Sara

Sara, I thought the same thing about the $$. It would nice to know that the plane ticket would already be paid for. I'll book today. And if you all back out on me I'll just go alone! (Please don't back out on me!)

Monica, I would suggest that you book as soon as possible. Flight prices change constantly! I have been a victim a few times.

:dancer: party: :dancer:

It's official! You go girl! :woohoo:

Were you able to pick a seat or do you have to wait to do that? :goodvibes

Sara

I picked my seats.:lmao: That doesn't sound good! I picked the winow seat away from any groups that have already picked their seats, away from the exit, but back far enough that if the plane broke in half like in Lost, I would still have a chance!:rotfl:

I'm here. ;)

Wow Monica, I'm SO excited for you! I'm only on page 4 right now, but it looks as if you guys have the trip planned. That works for me.

I'm currently planning on coming on Thursday night and leaving on Sunday morning. But that depends on IF I get a teaching job and what kind of principal I have. I intend to call it a "personal" day, but who knows.

I have not decided whether I'm flying or driving. How long of a drive is it for you Sara? I don't suppose you go by way of Atlanta? Are we still planning to room together or did you find someone over here and I missed it? I would prefer to fly, but with our finances the way they are right now, I can't make that decision until I know something about jobs for me and Matt. Although at the rate it's going, it may cost me as much to drive as to fly anyway.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh? I'm Heather. I'm currently a SAHM, but am praying to be teaching again in the fall. My boys are Will (6) and Christian almost 3 (his birthday is early June). I have no idea what I will tell them, but I can't possibly tell them I'm going to Disney. Our next family trip is currently planned for September of 2009. I don't have any idea how many times I've been to Disney. I lived in Florida for most of my life. From the age of 8 or so on, we went at least once a year. Sometimes once with each parent (my parents split up for 12 years and then got back together when I was in college). I went to the University of Florida and went often in college. I had an AP from high school on. I think. After Gainesville we moved to the Clearwater area and continued to go multiple times a year. For a few months in 2004 I actually worked for one of the reservation centers and got in free. However, all of that changed in July of 2006 when my husband got a promotion that moved us to north Georgia. We have been one time (September 2007) since. That job that tore me away from Florida has since been "deleted". And yes, you are correct if you have figured out that I am planning a Disney weekend, with friends and no family, that involves me either flying or driving by myself 8 hours each way, and neither my husband or I currently has a job. Well, he won't next week. Yes, apparently I am crazy. :rotfl: Let's just say that I fully expect that we will both have jobs by then.

Anyway, that was WAY to much about me. Back to the planning...which I guess I'd better participate in...and for the record, I am a pretty picky eater too.

Holy cow are we REALLY on page 34?! I won't be catching up before I have to go get Will. Guess I'd better go see what I've missed.

Heather - Glad you made if over here. Let us know what you think of all our plans!

Monica - Yay for booking! Makes it a little more official now!
