Please keep this little girl in your thoughts and prayers

When I became pregnant with DS back in 2002, I started visiting babycenter.com and their birth club message boards...as some of you may know, babycenter has message boards for each month. I mostly lurk around on the July 2003 board.

A few months ago, a thread on the July 2003 board was posted about a baby from the December 2003 board, Allie, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Allie's parents have set up a website, http://www.scotthousehold.com/ , and each day Allie's mom posts an update on Allie's condition. You'll see the pictures of Allie...she is the most adorable baby...hard to imagine that she is so ill.

Yesterday they received some very bad news on Allie's condition. The doctor basically told them that he's not optimistic and that Allie will likely die from this. It is just heartbreaking to read. I don't know these people personally, and I can't even begin to imagine the pain this family must be experiencing, but what I do know is that little Allie and her family can use all the prayers and good thoughts they can get, so I thought I was share their story here. Thanks.

As you said, Allison, little Allie is so cute, a precious little child. What wonderful pictures there, some sad thoughts. She and her family will be in my prayers, miracles happen. My best for their comfort, and thanks, Allison, for sharing this little life here with us.

I'm familiar with babycenter. I used to go there when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, and actually made a couple of very good friends from that board. What a wonderful site. I will keep Allie in my prayers. So very sad that such a young child would have to suffer through such a thing.

Thanks so much everyone. It's amazing how strong Allie's mom is...yes, she has her bad days, but reading her updates you can just tell that she is a very strong woman...I'm sure her husband is, too. Hopefully Allie is a little fighter, too!

I am so much more aware now of what GRIEF really is so this really hit me hard. Praying for them.
