Please join me in celebrating my 50th Birthday...Deluxe Style! FINALLY COMPLETE

We'll be at BCV same time. Seems we'll just be missing you at 3 different meals, including Teppan Edo - we'll be there for dinner on the 16th. Have a great time and Happy Birthday! What a great place to celebrate your 50th!!! :goodvibes

I'm bringing my DGF for her first trip on the 12-19th, and we'll be at CG on the 16th for a 9:40 ADR. If you happen to spot a guy in his mid 20s sipping a 7&7 on the balcony during wishes, by all means say hello :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Loved your last dining review so much had to join in for this one. :thumbsup2

Have an absolutely amazing time.

Happy Birthday!

I'll be 50 on Friday.

Leaving DH & 3 kids at home while I celebrate with 2 friends at BWI 5/11 to 5/19. We're staying CL and doing TiW rather than DDP. We'll be at Flying Fish on the 12th and California Grill on the 16th.

We all work together and work has been so stressful lately. We are all so ready for this trip.:cool1:

Thank you and Happy Birthday to you too!

Wow, we have so much in common...both celebrating our 50th birthdays at Disney World on the exact same dates (or almost, you get to be there one extra day ;)), staying at the same resort, leaving our husbands and kids behind (well, in my case 2 out of 3...yes, I have 3 kids too :thumbsup2), and dining at two of the same restaurants on the same night. This could all be a mere coincidence, but I think it's more a case of..."Great minds think alike!" :lmao:

Anyway, I'll be on the lookout for 3 ladies who still look a little like this  (from stress) on the 12th at Flying Fish, but by the 16th at California Grill look alot like this :cool1:.

Hope the three of you have a great time celebrating your 50th birthday at Disney! :dance3:

So you'll be our neighbors then...just right across the pond. Too bad we will miss you at Teppan Edo though, as it would have been fun to share a table with people from here on the DIS boards. Anyway, I hope you have a great trip too. I see you will be there in just 5 days...how exciting!

oops - I meant BWV ! I hope we don't try and check in to BCV; DH & DS wouldn't be amused :rotfl2:

Your DGF's first trip...how fun for you both!!! Our ADR is for 7:30 but we will probably try to stick around for the fireworks at 10:00 (our last meal at CG lasted at least 2 1/2 hours so it probably won't be a problem ;)).

Hope the two of you have a great trip!

Thank you for the birthday wishes and for joining in again Ela! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed my last review from our 25th anniversary celebration trip. Hopefully this review will be even better since I think my DD will be a more willing and active participant in taking pictures of and critiquing our meals. It will be nice to get more than the one word responses that I got from my DH in regard to his food. :lmao:

Happy Birthday! :)

And Teppan Edo is great! :thumbsup2
Excited to hear about Le Cellier, I'm going there during my trip in August '11! :)

Oh I have NO plans to look like that by the night of the 12th.:) I've shared the www.partythroughtheparks.com website with my friends and one said I couldn't have 50 drinks just because I was celebrating my 50th but I reminded her she wasn't my mother.:rotfl: I'm not much of a drinker at home but I've told them to be ready to drop off our bags after checkin and head right to France for the frozen Grey Goose slushie. I saw a photo of a "double" on the alcoholic photo thread. My kids are pretty young (12 (4 days after I get home), 10 & 8) so I don't tend to drink too much when traveling with them. So looking forward to this trip.:drinking1:rotfl2:

I've been reading your 25th anniversary report and enjoying it. My DH isn't the Disney fanatic the kids & I are but he does enjoy a nice meal. We'll be 27 years this fall. That is more shocking to me than the 50. And I have a nephew who was born the day we were married. I cannot believe he will be 27. He's getting married 9/10/11.

You've got to try the snapper at Flying Fish! I've been 3 times now-had the scallops the first time, filet the next and snapper the last time. I've enjoyed all 3 meals but the snapper was really wonderful. Not sure what I'll get on the 12th but will definitely be starting with a crab cake.

Happy Birthday! :)

Thank you and thanks for joining in! And I agree, Teppan Edo is great. :thumbsup2

Sounds like an incredible lineup! Have a wonderful birthday.

Thanks Lori! I see you have a trip coming up soon also. Are you going to do a dining report? I really enjoyed your "Bring on the Stretchy Pants" report from last May. Oh, and I loved the title!!! :lmao:

I've shared the www.partythroughtheparks.com website with my friends...

Here's another thing we have in common as I recently found this website and showed it to my DD. It will probably take us several days, but we are going to try to do the drinking around the world game. Being in college, she can handle her liquor much better than me. A couple of drinks and I'll be ready to go back to the BWI for a nap. :lmao:

I'm really looking forward to trying the red snapper this time. :thumbsup2 I'm guessing DD might order the scallops, but we'll see. :confused3 Oh, and I'm definitely having the crab cake for my appetizer again... I loved those!

My "BIG 50" is in June - and I told hubby - no party - no present - I just want a week with him and I in WDW - and I want him to let me do the planning - so we are booked at the SWAN 9/14 - 9/20!!!

I've got ADRs for quite a few of the same restaurants, so I am looking forward to your reviews!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY too!

Thanks Sherri! And take it from someone who''s been 50 for a whole week now...it's not so bad, especially when there is a Disney trip in your near future to look forward to. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great birthday celebration in September!

Thank you annichan! By the way, I'm really enjoying your dining report (in progress) and can't wait for more. Your reviews from your 2009 trip were very helpful when I was planning our 25th anniversary trip last fall. Thank you and keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the compliment! :flower3:

And by the way, with your 50th-birthday-trip you have brought me up to something: I still have a bit to go until 50, but my 40th is in December of 2013 ...
which is exactly the first year we do NOT already have another DCL or DLP trip planned for! :rolleyes1
And the time of year coincides wondrously with my desire to see Christmas decorations at WDW! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I guess I will have to talk to DH about adding another ticker to my signature :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I'm glad to be of help. ;) Christmas is a wonderful time to visit WDW...the decorations in the parks and resorts, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party :santa:, and the Candlelight Processional. I hope you are able to make it there for your 40th. :thumbsup2

Joining! Can't wait to hear your reviews. Also saying hi from a fellow central Illinoiser!

Well, hello there neighbor and thanks for joining! :wave2:

Just got back from my 50th birthday celebration trip to the world. We had lots of great food that I can't wait to tell you about and took tons of pictures to show you. However, DD2 graduates from high school in just ten days so I'll need to concentrate on that. Once that's over I promise I'll be back here with my reviews. Until then though I wanted to pass on a few tidbits of information about La Cava de Tequila. We were there just yesterday and were told by our waitress that their menu was changed last week. Sadly you can no longer get the chicken or crab tostadas that I love. Now for food they only have chips and salsa and/or guacamole. We got the chips and guacamole which was still the same as it was last trip and very good, but I was sooooo looking forward to the tostadas. :sad1: I guess you have to go to San Angel Inn to get your tostada fix from now on. Also I noticed that the margaritas are now served in the same glasses as they are served at La Hacienda instead of the glasses we had on our last visit to La Cava in Nov. 2010. In other words, instead of looking like this...

they looked more like this...

Okay, here is the pic of our La Cava margaritas from this trip:

La Cava Blood Orange Margarita and Avocado Margarita from May 18, 2011 Visit

So anyway, I could be mistaken but it seemed like the serving size is now a little smaller for the same price. Also the Blood Orange Margarita that we got yesterday looked and tasted very different from the one from Nov. 2010 pictured above. There was no longer foam on top and it didn't taste nearly as good to me. Luckily, DD liked it well enough though. ;) On a positive note, I got to try the Avocado Margarita and it was absolutely delicious! Now this was my first time having it so I can't say whether or not it has also been changed, but I can say that it is now my favorite margarita at Disney World...and I've tried quite a few (at least six on this trip alone :lmao:). Another positive was that as we were finishing our margaritas, they brought us a complimentary Classic margarita. We went on a Wednesday right at noon when they opened the bar and were the only ones in there for awhile so that might have had something to do with the free drink. ;)

Whenever I get my pictures edited and downloaded to Photobucket I'll post my La Cava pics here (FINALLY DONE AND POSTED PIC ABOVE). But until then, does anyone have any questions either about La Cava or any of the restaurants we visited on this trip? Btw, we followed the dining schedule which I listed in my first post. :thumbsup2
