Again in a pickle, my parents have decided to go on my Babysistersprincess: 3rd and 2nd bday. A recent event has a occured that has me wondering whether or not to go on her 3rd or 2nd. What happened was my Grandpa threw out his back and is having other health problems. It got me wondering am I rolling the dice with the grandparents health and what if one, god forebid, passes on and she wont be able to have had at least one trip with her. I am really concerned and want to go when all grandparents can come and be healthy. Please tell me what I should do to make the best decision possible to make the best trip for my babysister.

Hi there...whether your little sister is 1, 2 or 3 years old, she still won't have any memories of this first trip (other than the pictures you take). I would go as soon as your grandparents can afford to go, because you just never know what might happen. The older they get, the harder it will be to go & enjoy the parks...I get worn out & I'm only 34! There are lots of ways to make the trip more affordable...staying at a moderate or value resort, going off-season (which I would recommend anyhow due to cooler weather & smaller crowds)...there are lots of tips here on the DIS for budgeting.

Bottom line...having your g-parents with you at WDW is obviously important to you, so I would make that the priority right now & go with them as soon as it's possible for all involved.

Good luck!

I agree, whether she's 2 or 3, the only thing she'll remember is from photographs and videos. Although, I've been going to WDW since I was a toddler and I remember bits and pieces even now. I would definitely recommend going soon if you are worried about g-parents' health. It will make the trip that much more memorable for them.

A trip with a young preschooler is more for the adult's enjoyment since the child will have few memories. Go while your grandparents are able. Your child will have pictures and feel cherished when you look at them and talk about how her grandparents spent time with her.
