I am planning to go to US/IOA in July. I am travelling with a 3 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. We will only have 1 day to see Universal. Which park is better and more fun for the kids? Any help will be much appreciated.

Also - does anyone have a 1-800 # for US/IOA?:D

Thanx

Welcome to the DIS !

The 1-800 # I use for reservations and info is 1-800 BE A STAR.

Which park with a 3 and 7 yo is a hard question - will you be travelling alone or with another adult so that you could split up for a while? - at IOA they would both love Seuss Landing and all the rides there - the 7 yo would probably love the Spiderman area, but those rides may be too intense for your 3 yo. The Jurrassic park exploration center would be good, but the ride itself may be too much. The 2 water rides are also pretty rough for little ones.

At USF there would be ET, the water play area (forget the names - been a while since I've had little ones!) . Nickelodeon studios tour great for both - Shrek- Jimmy Neutron - check if they have a height limit for MIB.

It's such a hard decision !!! - the best alternative would be to get a one day/two park pass - I think they sell them (?)! - that way you could hit the kids areas of both - otherwise pull up the maps for both parks (on USF web site) and see which park would have the most to offer your kids depending on what they like.

I'm guessing that for the littler one Universal may be better because of the Nick themes, Scooby, Woody coaster, and Fievels playland. The Mib and Et are good too, but the youngest may be scared of the MIB at first. Also, Universal has Animal planet live and Barney for the kids (which your 7 year old will probably say they hate because its barney). Have fun.

Universal Studios(US) - they have reopened Curious George (CG) since my last trip in April.

Some elements in CG may be a little too intense for the 3 year old, as there are buckets of water coming down from the second floor above, as well as people with water cannons trying to hit him if he tries to go from the front of the attraction to the area where there is a two story (dry) ball shooting arena.

But I would think both would enjoy it if you set the 7 year old loose to get wet, make others wet, and enjoy the game ball arena, while walking what I call the "Parent path" to take the three year old on a romp through throwing, figuring out the "Vacuum" ball, gather ball in net bag and dump, & "Shoot"ball sequence on the second level, while being able to keep an eye on DS1 (Dear Son, oldest) darting in wet.

Have to tell you, I think you must be a great mom to take on a visit to two major theme parks without help - have you considered taking along a family member or friend to help?

I would say USO u will have more fun also for the 7 yr old u have woody coaster and Barney for your little one:jester:

thanx so much for all your help guys, i really appreciate it :)
