I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I have to start somewhere.

I am interested in renting a week (2 bedroom unit) at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in October 2005. I want to take my parents who have never been to WDW and would love to stay on property. My dad is a big western fan so I thought the VWL would be great for them. We own a condo at Westgate Vacations Villas which is very nice, but it isn't Disney. We would love to have the space and features of a condo. I have read the FAQ and everything, but I don't understand how I would actually go about renting a week. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any other ideas on how I could get this w/out spending a fortune, please let me know.

I'm very confused!!

TIA!!:sunny:

First you need to post on the rent board. And request that you are looking to rent points during Oct. at the Wilderness Lodge.

Here is a link... http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=29

Once you can list the exact week ..somebody will be able to give you an amount of points it will require stay at that resort for that week

There are two ways to do this.

1. Contact regular Disney reservations and see if they have a 2 bedroom availalbe at that time. For 2004, Disney is asking $690 per night (plus tax) for a 2 bedroom in October.

2. Arrange a private transaction with a DVC member. This can be done on the rent/trade board here at the DIS. The particulars (price, when payment is due, cancellation, etc.) are established between you and the person providing the rental. This is generally an economical way to do this. DVC members reserve the rooms using "points" and you will often see a "price per point" figure meaning they would charge $10 (or whatever) per point needed to book your reservation. Friday and Saturday nights "cost" DVC members more points than Sun-Thurs. October in a 2 bedroom is 32 points weekdnights and 61 points weekend nights. A Saturday-Saturday stay would run 282 points. You could make your trip Su-Fri for 160 points. Figure $10 per point as a minimum start point for reservations and consider that it may run closer to $12 per point.

The earliest a DVC member could book a reservation for you is 11 months from your check-out. November 2004 for an October 2005 reservation.
