Hi and thanks for reading this!!! Here is my prob my left leg is covered with spider vanes varicos vanes and holes on my right foot I have pf and I'm incontent only at night won't have a cc only tc and $200 PLEASE HELP leave in June and going by myself

Firstly, don't panic! Disney is absolutely wonderful at helping those of us with disabilities and other challenges. When you say you have $200, is that money you have for the whole trip, or for managing your conditions? Also, how long are you going for?

It sounds like an ECV would be a big help for you, as there is a lot of walking involved with a Disney trip. It is easier, and often works out cheaper to rent from an off-site rental company. There's details of some recommended companies in the FAQ thread. They will deliver to and collect from your hotel, and if you're staying at a Disney resort the buses are really easy to use with a wheelchair / ECV.

As for the incontinence, you might want to contact the hotel before you get there. They may well have water-proof sheets that they can put on the bed for you, so you wouldn't need to worry about anything before you went to bed. Some kind of incontinence panties or pads would also help to keep you more comfortable and happy. I know it can be an embarrassing issue, but it is very common and there are a lot of things you can do to make it easier to deal with. You might also want to talk to your doctor, to make sure there aren't any underlying issues, and to see whether there is something he / she can suggest to help.

I hope this helps to give you a place to start from, and please do come back with any more questions you have - we're here to help you! :thumbsup2

No tc or traveler checks I will have 300 form those and 200 so 500 all together and no cc or credit card the reason I am asking I have depends but scared about the airport if I need a letter from my doctor explaning why I need them and I thought you need a cc to put a deposit down for a ecv

They will not even know at the airport that you have depends and I’m sure you won’t be the only one.

If you click on the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you can find a lot of information. Post #2 includes information about renting ECVs, both from the parks and off-site. You can contact some of the different places and find out what their policies are regarding needing a credit card.

You can request rubber sheets for your bed - just request from Housekeeping. Some people have also brought their own along; an inexpensive plastic shower curtain makes a good barrier. You can request extra sheets from Housekeepin too, in case you need to remake the bed at night.

Ah sorry, I didn't understand the acronyms! I would think most companies around Disney would need some kind of card deposit. As you would need assistance in the airport, have you tried looking into local companies that will rent you an ECV. I would think they would be more likely to accept cash; it would probably work out cheaper than renting around Disney; and it wouldn't count against your luggage quota, as it's a mobility aid. It would also give you a chance to practice driving it before you get to the parks.

Another option, if your problems are long-term, you could consider getting your own ECV second-hand. Ebay, Craig's List and local ads are all good places to look for one. Sometimes larger charity shops will also have mobility aids.

As for doctor's letter, in America you do not need to provide any proof of disability to get equal access. This will include renting the ECV; access to the parks and rides with the ECV; and any other provisions you need to get an equal or equivalent experience to those without disabilities.

My son is a special needs child. We mail down the diapers and wipes. We also send a shower curtain from the dollar store. We have always had great luck with our packages being ready for us when we arrive...maybe sending things ahead might be a good idea. As for the credit card does your bank have a debit card? Can you put your money onto the debit card to secure an ECV? For the airport you can call the airline and they can have a wheelchair waiting for you...

The reason no cc is that I spend alot of money once my hands get on it that is why my parents take care of my ssdi checks and pay checks so I can't get a card but they are letting me take 300 in tc and I am (hoping) to save my weekly allowence till the trip and I can walk just fine it is that after 8 hrs of walking my legs cramp up and my right heel aches alot so I was thinking just to get a Dac card what do y'all think

It is a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) and there is more information in post #6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. There is a link in my signature to get to the disABILITIES FAWS thread.

A GAC will not help in that situation. It will not shorten the distance you walk, so if you get cramping and pain after walking 8 hours, you need to plan to stay in the park less than 8 hours or plan to get an ECV or wheelchair. Most people walk between 3 and 9 miles a day at WDW just walking around the parks. A GAC will not change that.

If you rent from the parks, you put down a deposit of money (not a credit card) and when you bring the ECV back, they give your money back. That would be a little more expensive per day, but you would not need a credit card. A wheelchair would be less expensive, but you would need someone to push it for you.

I thank y'all for all the comments and links y'all and my parents have helped me out alot for this trip again thank you from the bottom of my heart your friend supergoofy20p :0)

, hope you have a blast!! And I think that you should get someone to accompany you to WDW. That way you will not be alone and have someone there that can help you when you need it the most.:flower3:

Could your parents use their card to rent an ECV for you, and then just give you a bit less for your trip? Also, are you over 18? The reason I ask, is that many rental companies won't rent to anyone under 18. If you talk it through with your parents and talk to a few different rental companies, you should be able to sort out a plan that works for everyone! :thumbsup2
