Please help with strategy on this...

We are heading down next year for Halloween with some friends. We'd like to stay at a Grand Villa at OKW with our points for the week. However, on the last night there, we decided to split up, and I'd like to take the kids to BCV to experience SB. (we won't do the parks that last day so I thought that might be nice for them) Do you think I'll have a problem getting the reservations at 7 months out? It would be a Friday night during the first week of November. If so, what would be my best strategy? To try to trade some of my OKW points for BC points? I'm pretty new so I'm not sure what all my options are. I'd love any suggestions or experience you could pass on!

Are you an OKW owner? If so, I would reserve the GV at 11 months for the days you want and the smaller unit for that last night. Then at the 7 month window, I would try to change that last night to BCV. You might have to go on a wait list, but I would think you would have plenty of time to get it. One of the issues for BCV at this time of year is that it is during the F&W festival, so the Epcot resorts get very full and busy. That is why I would do the 11 month ressie at OKW and try to wait list early at BCV. It also depends on the size unit you are looking for at BCV. I would think studios might be difficult.

I agree with Diane. The only thing I will add, is with only wanting 1 night at BCV the chances of the waitlist working well for you I would think are pretty high!

Yes, yes, to everything already said, I just wanted to offer a big ray of hope. The night you want is a Friday night, weekend nights fill up LAST. I don't think you will have any problem at all.

That's exactly what I'll do. I'll get things set up at OKW and then try to do a switch at the 7 month window.

This year, Halloween is on a Friday night. However, I believe cascadecupcake is thinking about 2004. Next year, Halloween is on a Sunday (2004 is a leap year). IMHO, that night will be hard to get at 7 months. Halloween is popular, especially since MNSSHP is almost certain to be occuring that evening.

I think I would either rent points for that one night and lock the reservation in at 11 months, or see if I could find a BCV owner willing to trade points. I'd still recommend trying to reserve prior to 7 months if at all possible, unless staying another night at OKW would be just fine and SAB not all that important.
