Please help with room occupancy at AKL

Im having such a hard time trying to upgrade our holiday as a surprise for my OH.

Originally I had planned on upgrading from 3 weeks at OKW to 1 week OKW-1 week AKL- 1 week BCV...

However, I called my EA and despite online prices not changing since I booked my holiday they quoted me an extra £1800 rather than the £800 showing online as apparently I already have a booking.

So my plan now is AKL in the final week, Iv always wanted to stay here and my OH loves the animals. However there will be 2 adults, 2 children and a 2 year old. According to Disneyworld customer services and all the brochures we fit into the room occupancy under the 4 adults and 1 child under 3 rule however the online system will not allow me to book and Iv already brought this issue up with my EA who doesnt seem to understand.

Iv decided to book it on top of my existing booking direct with disney for 4-7 nights however there is no way of booking online to get my quidco discount. Are there any other websites I can book hotel only with from the UK?

I think you need to ask on the UK board further down the boards. But occupancy at AKL is 4+1 infant (2 or under).

The Disney brochure and all the UK brochures confirm it as 4 adults and up to one child up to the age of 3. When I emailed to ask Disney.com General Information Team to query this as my EA was unsure they agreed it is 4 and a child under 3.

I am asking on the US area as there may be a US website that I can book through.

I already have flights and dining plan I just want to book some additional dates in AKL.

Can you not book just a room only reservation on the regular (US) Disney site? I didn't know if maybe it bounces you somewhere else when it realizes you are not in the US by your IP address. If that's the case, I don't have an answer.

Or call on the phone and book if you're willing to pay for the international call - it's 407-WDW-DISNEY

You can use skype to call WDW from the UK - it does make it a lot cheaper to call. I did this when I was in Turkey and was on hold for 45 minutes - before I was connected to make a hard to get dining reservation - cost 2 euro or something for a 1 hour call.

I think I might try calling first (shouldn't be as long for normal reservations)- but I think you should be able to book on the US website - just clear your cookies in your web browser if it flips you back to the UK site. Also expedia usa and orbitz usa usually have Animal Kingdom Lodge on their websites as well - not as good discounts as Disney IMO though but may be worth a shot.

Good luck!:wizard:

But if OP used a travel agent to book the original three weeks at OKW, Disney won't allow her to make changes until the agent releases the reservation to them.

Also, when is this trip planned for? BCV can be very difficult to get into, but you shouldn't have a problem getting a room at the resort instead.

Are you trying to book AKLodge or AKVillas? I see your other two resorts are both villas. That won't change anything, though. Studios and one bedroom villas both sleep four plus one under the age of three (and OKW one bedroom and most AKV one bedrooms actually sleep five with a sleeper chair in the living room). BCV doesn't have the sleeper chair. No studios have the sleeper chair.

Sorry I am trying to book AKL...

I can get on the US site however the minute I add my 2 year old it says they have no availability based on our group size.

I am also booking this independently. Im fed up of the EA and their imaginary prices that are extortionate so I was just going to find a few days at a reasonable cost so that we could experience the resort as my sons love the giraffes and we are considering DVC. We would still have our current booking at OKW at the same time!

I know it seems daft but at least we can leave all our things in our room and just grab a few changes of clothes. Also if the kids are keeping us awake my OH can slip away yo OKW for the night and get some sleep...

I think you're going to have to telephone, unfortunately. Sounds like something wonky with the Disney website - which definitely happens from time to time.

Iv emailed the reservations team this time to ask about this and see what I can do, with the time difference and work its very difficult to call unfortunately.

There is no rush I suppose... Just like getting everything organised.
