Hi all. I have been a lurker on these boards for a very long time (I’m pretty much addicted to reading them), but have not really been a poster. I am proud to say though that I have converted my husband into a Disney lover. We’ve been married 2 years and have been to Disney 3 times: July 2003 (our honeymoon-CSR), January 2004 (a wonderful week at POR), and July 2004 (quick 3-day trip after we went to the beach-POR). Now we are planning our next trip for January 21-28, 2006 to belatedly celebrate his graduation from pharmacy school (6 years in school—so glad it’s over). We’re working with Anne at Small World Vacations (and she’s been wonderful, by the way). I have detailed out a rough itinerary and was hoping to get some comments from the experts. I know there will be changes once the hours are released, but at least this is a starting point. ::MickeyMo

Saturday:
Arrive POR mid-afternoon (requested the mansions)
Dinner at Citricos
Watch Bob the piano guy at resort.

Sunday:
Magic Kingdom all day
Lunch at Counter Service
Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (our first character meal)
I’m hoping at least Wishes will be going on in the evening, but hopefully both Wishes and Spectro.

Monday:
Animal Kingdom for most of the day
MGM for dinner at Brown Derby and Fantasmic

Tuesday:
EPCOT all day, lunch at ???????
Monorail to MK if we finish early at Epcot.
Evening: Boardwalk for late dinner (maybe Spoodles????) then maybe Jellyrolls

Wednesday:
SPA DAY at Grand Floridian
Dinner at Concourse Steakhouse
Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island

Thursday
MGM late morning through afternoon
Epcot for dinner at Rose and Crown and watch Illuminations

Friday
AM: Blizzard Beach (if it’s warm enough) or DisneyQuest
Evening: MK for dinner at Castle and to see Wishes (hoping it will be open a little later because it’s a weekend)

Saturday:
HOME :o(

Any thoughts? Maybe on our eating choices?? We LOVE Boatwrights so we will be eating breakfast there at least a few times too.

Since we’ve been there several times, we’re hoping to relax on this trip. We know what we want to see again and what we’ve missed in previous trips that we’d like to see this time, but there will be no commando (or at least that’s what I’ve told DH…we shall see how that works out). Looking forward to low crowds too! I’m also hoping to take my first stab at a trip report when we get back. :cheer2:

I would love to hear some of your ideas! Thank you so much!

From what I've read MK is busy on sat & sun and AK is not. I'd switch the two.

Anyone know first hand?

Looks lovely, the only question I would have is if you are driving from place to place, or are you planning on using Disney transportation.

If you are using Disney buses, monorial, etc. double-check that you have a way to get to each park from your present location (ex. You are going to MGM from AK - is there a direct bus?).

You may have already done this and are aware of it, but if not, it can be a real pain to discover that you can't to Point B from Point A unless you take two buses, a boat, and a camel!

I do try to avoid MK on Sat & Sun. We try to make our plans around EMH. We avoid those parks, and its always worked like a charm. My only advice is plan on being at the park the day after EMH,(MK EMH on Tuesday we go on Wed, this is just an example). keep a eye on changes. We were there last MAY and the EMH changed there days a few weeks before we left. Good luck Tina :sunny:

From what I've been reading lately, Saturdays are not that bad at MK now (even the tour guides say so) and Sunday is really good for MK. Mondays are really, really bad! We're going to give it a go this trip and try it on a Saturday. We've been to Disney 3 times and I have never seen Spectromagic because we've never been there on a Saturday night. We've always arrived on Sunday and left on Saturday afternoon. MK morning EMH is on Friday, so that may be why Saturday's aren't so bad anymore. Good luck with your itinerary!

From my reading, I also agree that Monday is a bad day for MK, but Sunday is good. I've read that Sat is still busy at MK, especially at night (although not as bad as Monday)/

I think Sun at MK and Mon at AK should be fine.

Looks great to me.
