Please help with lost camera

Hello everyone. I am hoping someone can help me. I was at DL yesturday, Sept 7. It was a terrific day except for one thing...I lost my camera. I lost it either on the POTC ride or in the woman's bathroom near the New Orleans train station. It was lost between 3:30 pm and 4pm. I have reported it to lost and found and filled out a claim form. For those of you who have lost (or know someone who has lost items in the park) please be honest, what are the chances I will get my camera back.

I spoke with two CM from a restuarant right in front of the bathrooms described my camera bag and was told "Someone is taking it to the Lost and Found on Main Street right now." I was so happy I didnt bother to get their names but when I arrived at Main Street it was not there. I waited until the park closed at 8pm and checked Main Street and the main lost and found, but no camera.

The CM at the Main lost in found (Brianna, she was so helpful, I need to fill out a guest comment form about her) called the restaurant but the supervisor said no one had reported a missing camera.

I am mainly upset because my son's pics from his second birthday are in there and of course we had not yet downloaded them into our computer

If anyone can think of any advise or anything else I can do please let me know.

I once lost a camcorder (back in the day when few people had them) and it was taken to Lost and Found and I got it back. I've heard of a lot of other people getting lost items returned to them as well. I think most people who go to DLR are honest people. It's certainly possible that the person taking your camera to Lost and Found may have become distracted and failed to get it there before the park closed so try again tomorrow!

Have you checked the Lost and Found at the DCA entrance? Not sure if this is the main one.

I've lost the lens cap of my camera three years ago and my cell phone 2 years ago. Both were handed in - and I seriously did not expect that anyone would bother with a lens cap!

But I didn't get them until the next day. I checked shortly before closing and they were not there. Go and ask again today if you can. I was told that CMs often hand in items only when their shift ends.

My DD got her wallet back, all her cash was gone, but at least she didn't have to go through the hassle of replacing her ID. Lost and found didn't have the wallet the day we filed the report, but it was mailed to us a week or so later.

Don't give up hope yet.

I've personally turned a camera in, and a friend of mine had their wallet returned with $200 cash still in it. We thought for sure the cash would be gone, if it was even turned in at all. I hope that your camera makes it back to you!

Thank you everyone for giving me some hope back. I did go to the lost and found by the DCL. That is what I meant by the main lost and found.

I am so happy to hear that people got items back the next day

Today we are going to the LA County Fair, but I will be calling lost and found for an update.

We will be in DCA tomorrow so I will check in person again...but fingers crossed that I can just pick up my camara then.

This past June we were in the Magic Kingdon at DW and I found a camera. I immediately turned it in to a CM and saw the person come back all on a panic. I really hope I created very good Karma on that day. The camara also has my husbands name and phone number on it so if anyone finds it they can call us immediately.

Hope you get your camera back.
My son's cell phone fell out on a ride at Knott's a couple of weeks ago. As soon as we realized it he went to the workers on the ride & it had already been sent to lost & found.
I was completely impressed with this, it was only a tracfone so it wouldn't have been a huge loss. At lost & found they told me anytime a camera or phone is found or turned in it is immediately sent over (usually within 30 minutes). It was less than 1 hour from the time he lost it to when I picked it up.

Dh lost his gloves on Main Street a year or so ago....they turned up at DCA at the end of the day, so definately check both lost and found centers again.

Did you have your name and phone number on your camera anywhere? I use the labeler and put our last name and my cell phone number on our cameras.

Left my sunglasses on BTMR and they turned up at lost and found about 24 hours later. Sometimes it just takes time to get it there I think.

sending some pixiedust your way!!! I really hope someone turns it in for you!!! I had a friend go to WDW in March and she lost her camera. It was returned a few hours later!! So it happens.....all the time!!! Good luck!

I just called. No luck. I was told they are still receiving items.

My husband's name and cell number the phone.

I am so sorry your camera isn't showing up. I hope it does.

I want to suggest this to many that are reading this...
I once read this tip to do before you go on vacation.
Take a picture of your self holding a poster board with your name, address, phone number on it with a short note saying something to the effect of....my camera can be replaced by my pictures of my memories cannot, please return my memory card and keep the camera.
You'd be amazed my many people will put your card in to see what pictures are on it and see the note and how many people have gotten their memory cards back.

i too lost my camera, i got it for christmas, went like 4 days after christmas and right before we were about to leave i left it on a bench!!!

luckily when i called a few days later they had found it and mailed it to me!


i think the reason no one stole it though was because the fact we left the park at around midnight so most of the park was pretty empty so the Cm found it without anyone taking it

We have lost wallets with money (twice!), our families entire set of night time sweatshirts, walkie talkies (in the old days without cell phones!) a watch and a new 8 day park ticket(again the old days) Everything but the watch was turned in to lost and found or a CM, including the $$. DL will mail it to you if it is turned in after you leave the area.

I lost a camera at DCA once and it turned up at lost and found. I'm hoping you have the same luck.

I also lost a camera at Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando. It fell out of my pocket on the platform of a rollercoaster. They wouldn't let me get it even though we could see it. They told me I could get it from Lost and Found that night. Nope. Never turned in. Lost my Pixie Hollow pictures....definitely have to get new ones this November.
