I am not a huge breakfast eater/fan - I do like breakfast foods just fine but would much rather spend my money/calories on "real" food. However, I have been thinking it might be nice to have a nice breakfast on our first day during our planned August trip.

We will probably be up early and our tummies will be empty after a long overseas flight. We will stay at Coronado Springs and won't go to a park on the first day. We won't be on a dining plan that day either.

So what am I looking for?

Either a counterservice restaurant or reasonably priced table service restaurant that offers special/tasty breakfast options. Due to the time change we would probably like something more lunch-like (well, I would) rather than just sweet stuff. It would be great if either the restaurant itself was fun or if it was somewhere fun to hang out afterwards.

Although I have not been to it yet, I heard The Wave at The Contemporary is good.

The menu at the Grand Floridain Cafe is a combo breakfast/ lunch . Last trip I had eggs while DH had a Chicken Caesar salad.

Boma breakfast at AKL gets great reviews, and you could spend some time looking for animals at the resort afterwards.

I’ll second both Boma and The Wave. What day of the week is this? Because Reglan Road also has a brunch, but I think it may only be on Sundays.

I’ve heard good things about Kona at the Poly... or maybe it was another restaurant at the poly. Either way you could check out the resort after and then do a monorail tour. Hit up all the gift shops, have a drink in each lounge, take a boat over to wilderness and explore. Lots to do over there.

My favorite breakfast in Disney is 1900 Park Fare. It has fun characters, great food, and it’s in the Grand Floridian which is a nice place to visit. :)

Olivia's over at Old Key West or I would recommend Kona Cafe. Kona is always a breakfast favorite of ours. And if you are doing a non-park day, you could take a trip around in the monorail and even explore those other hotels on the line too.

Not on the Dining Plan I'd like Trail's End. It's one of the least expensive buffets and Ft Wilderness is kinda fun.

It actually is Sunday so I will check on Raglan Road as well.
if you end up at Ragland’s for brunch, report back, it's a favorite dinner dinner spot but I’ve never done the brunch, would love to hear your take on it.

Olivia's over at Old Key West (now you’re talking, Olivia’s breakfast potatoes) or I would recommend Kona Cafe. Kona (pot of French pressed coffee)
Another possibility, Wolfgang Puck Express at Disney Springs, maybe if you’re there a bit before the 11 am breakfast cut off you can get breakfast and lunch options?

We like Grand Floridian Cafe. The menu has everything and it is just so nice and peaceful and pretty and i think they have THE best wait staff. Food is excellent.
Our second favorite is Boma. Again, food is excellent and it's the one place my kids actually tried "different" things and loved them. They ask to go back here every other trip. Animal viewing is a huge plus.
Either place, we usually don't have anything planned right after breakfast. These 2 days are our "relaxing" days! LOL
Enjoy

We are doing California Grill on our arrival day for brunch. Seems like a great way to kick off the trip! Boma was our other choice.

Kona for us Tonga Toast and you can walk around resort after you eat..... Bona and the Wave are also very good for breakfast

I'll 2nd Wolfgang Puck @ Disney Springs. You order like counter service but they deliver to your table.

I like Kona and also Grand Floridian Café. GFC is so pretty as is the resort

We love the Med. Cafe at Dolphin. It has a semi-buffet and a menu as well. Afterwards you could explore the resort and wander over to BW and explore there.
