Just doing my last minute planning and I guess I made the mistake of checking the fireworks schedules too late.

I booked a 7pm ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. According to the park schedule, Spectromagic will happen at 7pm that night...I guess I didn't expect it would go on so early especially since that particular night is evening EHM at MK :confused3

We are going in 6 days! It's likely too late to switch the time on our ADR and I can't cancel it altogether-it was practically the only ADR that my DBF got say in!! (yes, he's too good to me and let me pick most:lovestruc )

But Spectromagic is not to be missed, right?

What should I do?
and if by some miracle I can change the ADR, what time should I change it to?

Spectro will be past LTT by 7:30, so just bump it back a half hour. You can watch from right in front of LTT.

in fact, keep the same ADR. I am pretty sure you can get up from your table and stand on the porch to watch the parade..then go back in and finish your meal. Or, if Spectro starts at the Frontierland side, you may still be waiting to be seated while it passes by.

Wow thank you!! Boy, did we luck out there!!

How long is Spectromagic? It starts at 7pm (when our ADR's are). Does the parade alternate where it starts from, or should I just expect it to travel past LTT at 7:30? Will a CM be able to tell me this?

So, should I definately keep the 7:00 ADR or try to change it a little earlier or later to be on the safe side?

That sounds like a treat to be able to watch it from the porch of LTT-will our view be good or blocked by those standing on the curb?

Thank you all so much-that was our last dilemma I've run into with our planning:goodvibes

5 more days!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Spectro always starts on Main Street, I'm guessing it would get to LTT around 7:15 and be over by 7:30. Be warned though, if you get seated and see some characters, you kids may wonder how they got from the LTT into a new costume, and onto a parade float in such a short time.

Thanks for that info!

We don't have kids, so it would only be me traumatized by the character transition :lmao: My DBF will tell me it's just Disney magic and then I'll be ok princess:

Hmm...so, maybe I should see if I can change the ADR to 6:45 instead of 7:00?

Reason being is, I don't want to be a pain to the hostess or waitress if they call us to be seated or wait on us right when the parade goes by. If I can get a 6:45 than even if we are seated by 7, it will be less of a pain towards the waitress if we get up after we order rather than in the middle of ordering or something.

What do you think-keep the ADR for 7 or try to change it to 6:45?

I was gonna call this afternoon, so please let me know your thoughts!!

Thanks!!

If they have 7:30 it would even be better, you would watch the parade and go right to dinner. 6:45 would work also, just let your server know of your plans. I'm sure lots of people get up and go out to watch the parade.

We were in the LTT during Spectro in 2005. The characters "took a break" to change their clothes and be in the parade. Our server was understanding of the parade and mentioned it when we were seated. The porch area of the restaurant was a mob scene - many people did move outside or near the windows to see it. You are slightly elevated from the sidewalk crowd. I was thankful that we had already seen it that trip but it was doable to see it and have dinner. We were able to hear the music from inside and even see a few of the floats in the distance through a window (we were seated mid-restaurant). My belief is that the parade runs both directions on nights when it is being run twice.

I think I'm gonna try for a 6:30/6:45 ADR change. Don't want to change it to 7:30 b/c Wishes is at 8pm that night!

Doesn't that seem so early??
and this is an evening EHM night!

Anyone know if WDW Dining Reservations is open today to call them or if they close on Sundays?

Thanks!

Arggh just called and they are booked for the rest of the day:sad2:

Oh well, now, how hard is it to request a table at the window for two people?

Do they have table for two's at the window?

It looks like they are booked solid the day we are going (next Sunday), so I don't want to make any trouble for the hostess.

Do dinner ADR's allow for table requests? Should I call back the dining phone # and see if I can request a window seat? Anyone ever done this and had their request granted?

DH and I had a window seat a couple of years ago, and we showed up VERY late for our reservation. (That's a very long story regarding busses from AK) Anyway Spectro was scheduled for a few hours later that night. LTT Tavern area is an excellent place to watch SpectroMagic!

Thank you for sharing this! I've never been to LTT-are there lots of windows overlooking the street? Are the windows big? Are there areas inside where you can watch the parade go by without bothering the other guests or staff? The parade going by LTT can't be for that long, can it? 10 minutes maybe?

I don't need to see the whole thing, I just wanted to check it out.

Stellablue:

That trip was a while back, and DH and I really just don't remember. I don't think there were a lot of seats near the window, and I can't even be absolutely sure that our seat was absolutely AT the window. It was definitely near it. It seems like later on we noticed that there were alot of people standing IN FRONT of the windows on the outside watching the parade. They may have come from inside the restaurant. ANyway, I think if you had the window seat, you would have at least needed to standup to keep your vantage point.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been any more help. Its been awhile.

BTW, the bathrooms in LTT are absolutely awful. Go before or after. They were definitely installed to 1971 standards and 1971 decor, and has definitely seen more than a few guest. This was a VERY vivid memory. SHOCKING REALLY!
