We are staying 7 nights at POFQ in June. However we are driving down from Atlanta a day eary and are going to check into a hotel in the area. My mother has Hilton rewards that she wants to use. We will need just 2 pretty basic rooms on a Friday night in an Orlando/Kissimmee Hilton hotel. The plan is to go check in at POFQ around 11am the next day. So really we just need to crash at a Hilton for a night. When I did a quick google search, there seems to be 4 Hiltons in the area.

Can someone suggest which one we should stay at? We arn't looking to spend a ton, location is probably the most important.. Something close to Disney.

Thanks in advance for your time..

The Hilton on Hotel Blvd is very convenient to Disney and Port Orleans plus right across the street from DTD. I have stayed there several times and like it.

There is also a Hilton on International Drive (Destination Pkwy) and if I had kids and time I would stay there as they have an awesome pool area with a lazy river, mini golf and more but its not really convenient to Disney.

The Doubletree on Hotel Blvd is one of my favorite hotels with their suite rooms and its considered a Hilton for point purposes.

You can probably also get a Garden Inn for less points but I am not familiar with them.

You can use points at any Hilton owned hotel. Use the website to view the best offers for points. Hampton Inn will usually require the least, sometimes Hilton Garden Inn especially when they are new and trying to build business.

There is a Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista although I have not stayed there. The Hilton Bonnet Creek is a very nice resort and the Hilton in DTD is perfectly adequate. Both of these will most certainly use more points than a Hampton or Garden Inn. For just the one night I would just pick the closest to Lake Buena Vista that has the best points deal.

I would recommend visiting the hhonors website and entering your dates and search by hhonors points, it will show the open hotels and let you know how many points it will take.

www.hhonors.com is the site. I like the hilton bonnet creek but i think its a category 7

Awesome tips..

I saw another thread on here and booked a Hampton Inn on Palm Parkway. I got 2 rooms at $99 a night..

I decided to check the prices of the Hilton that you mentioned because it was closer to the resturant that we will be eating at.. The lady told me rooms would be $145 a night, so I said I couldn't do that and thanks for their time. Then she asked my price range and I said about $100 a night.. Long story short I got 2 rooms at $107.20 each. Something called "the great getaway". Only thing is I had to pay in full and the sale is final.. Fine by me !!

Later I found out by my mother that this was the hotel we stayed at when I was a kid for my first couple trips to disney...

Thanks everyone for your tips..

Please double check me on this, but I believe you get access to extra magic hours at the Hilton IN the Walt Disney world resort. I'm sure it will take more points to stay there, but the perk of EMH may be of value to you if your arrival times allow for an extra day.

Regardless if you use EMH or not, the Hilton in Disney is a great hotel, and within easy walking distance to downtown Disney.

Hope this is helpful.

I stayed with my family at the on-property Hilton last June (Dad gets Hilton Rewards too). It is the only non-Disney hotel know of that does EMH. The bussing situation is a little crazy, but I usually just caught the bus at DTD. The hotel itself is very nice, there is a Benny Hana's in the hotel, and, if you check in with the Diamond level card, you get free breakfast!
