Please Help. My wife and I were given a DVC membership w/ 50 points as a gift at OKW. It has a DEC use year. My wife and I are thinking of going in 2004 During the first or second week of DEC ( Adventure season). We want to go Sun - Thurs in a 2 bedroom = 22 ppn x 5 nites= 110. My questions are when can i book this trip (11 months out?) can i book this trip. I will be using this years 50 points pluse next years 50 points plus will need to borrow 10 points from the following year. Can I do that even though i would be booking the trip now. do i have to bank any points? Next ? what if we cancel or change size of room for some reason.. What happens to all my points? Do they go back to each use year? Do I lose any. Do I have to use some so i dont lose any. Please Help!!!!!! I dont want to make any mistakes making our first trip home. THANK YOU

DVC reservations at your home resort may be reserved 11 months from the checkout date. (If you wish to go from Dec 12-17, 2004, you can call MS on Jan. 17, 2004 to make the whole reservation- but you'll actually need to wait until Jan. 19, 2004 since MS is closed on the weekends.)

In this case you will need to bank your Dec. 2003 points, and borrow from the Dec 2005 Use Year to have enough points. (You will do all of this with one phone call to MS).

If you shoudl later cancel, the 2003 points- banked into 2004- MUST be used by November 30, 2005. The 2005 points borrowed into your 2004 Use Year will also have to be used by Nov. 30 , 2005 as they cannot be returned to their original Use Year.

Once points have been banked or borrowed, they will remain in the Use Year into which they were moved and they cannot be banked. The Dec. 2004 points could be banked into 2005- based on banking deadlines.

you can also book day by day, starting jan. 12 booking your first day and the next day jan. 13 booking your second day, and so on and so on, and then on the 19 booking your last day, dec. is a popular month and 2 bedrooms go fast, to play it safe i would book day by day. if you want to stay at any other dvc resort other then your home resort okw, you can only book 7 months out and by then you can make the entire ressies in one phone call, but keep in mind when you have to bank those points for your ressies
