We have never been to the pm extra magic hour at any of the parks. Was thinking we may do a few this June. What parks would you choose and why?
If you have had good or bad time. Any advice is welcomed. We are a
family of 5 all adult except for DS11.

Never attending EMH's because they will be too crowded
is like never eating grapes because they will be too sour.

CAN be that way.
Doesn't HAVE to be that way.

Each EMH experience can be different.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip
that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)...
never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly
empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later...
Were happy with "doing" that park for the day and we
can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until
later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were
PACKED... but on other nights (sometimes within the
same trip), the crowds were basically so low that it
was like "free rides" on all the open attractions.

Those who have attended PM EMH's and say that "they
are TOO CROWDED" are right... but ONLY for the nights
they may have attended.
I can say, from personal experience, that they CAN be
EMPTY, or FULL or somewhere IN-BETWEEN for attendance,
often within the same week.

We went to PM EMH at AK on a Wed night and PM EMH at MK
on a Sun night (early Spring visit.)
The EMH's were so EMPTY that we could have
stayed on many attractions and ridden around and around.
This included Splash, BTM, and Pirates (and many more) at
MK, and Exp. Everest, Kali, and Dinosaur at AK. And
the crowds during the DAY at these parks were very
LARGE... within the first hour of EMH, they simply
"evaporated."

But, it can change so much (either way), that saying
it was "like X" on a given night, can be meaningless
on another night in the same time-period. So, you
simply don't KNOW unless you go. Its similar to saying
that you attended on a given night and it rained, so
guests should never go on that night because it will
probably be rainy.

The rule seems to be, it is far easier for guests to
STAY UP at the end of the day, than it is for them to
GET UP at the start of the day.

But, considering EMH's are FREE to attend... if its
busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE
are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

Our experience with PM EMH's is the later you stay the more you can play. ;)

Ours too! There are characters out at MK throughout the night. My kids were meeting characters at 2 am last year in a virtually deserted park! I love the pm EMH at Epcot and MK. I don't care for AK and DHS.

I highly recommend going to MK for the pm hours because many vistors tend to leave right when the park closes so it's as if you have the park to yourself. No one is really there, the rides are less than 10 seconds long...you just walk right up and sit in the ride, there are a bunch of characters that come out at night, and all around it's great! Plus, it's cool so there is a nice breeze :)

I agree with the PM EMH at MK. The park was empty with walk ons for everything that we saw except for PP. We did not make it over to Space Mt that night though.

The PM EMH at DHS was crazy busy but we got FP for RnRc & ToT then did lessor attractions that night.

At EP, we spent the PM EMH in WS so it didn't really make a difference about crowds as there aren't really anything to wait in line for.

For our next trip in Sept we will not be hopping and will skip all EMHs.

Ditto! We've had walk ons (or close) for things like HM, PP, SW during that last hour or so at MK.

We always do PM EMH in all the parks and always enjoy them. Being in the parks later in the evening is a whole different experience. :thumbsup2

Last time down we went to MK in the evening.
By 10:30 the park virtually empty. Rode anything we wanted to with zero wait.

Thank you everyone for the quick responses.
We will be trying the PM extra hours this trip.

We are usually up early and do the early enter park eat lunch at that park and hop out of there by 1:30 or so (if it is packed).

I was thinking of taking a break at the resort nap swim and eat supper then hopping to the park that had the extra evening hours for that day. I hope this sounds doable but I will need to research Fantasmic, and spectro magic nights so we don't miss out on them.

Again thanks to all.

:thumbsup2 LOOOOVEEE PM EMH!!! There's no one in the parks! Especially at Epcot in WS! Love it!!!:lovestruc

We like the PM EMHs at Magic Kingdom too! We find that the later you stay, the more it thins out, and you can have your pick of walk on rides!
