Apparently I originally posted this in the wrong area of the board. This place is huge!

We need a total of 3 rooms and would like them to be close, if not connecting, at the resort (All Star Movie). We would like to be able to book the vacations online and seperately so we can all make our payments as needed. Should I just book ours, wait for the other 2 parties to book theirs, then call to get the rooms close? Or should I call customer service and book it all on the phone?

When we book our preferred room, what's the process for requesting a specific building? I know Disney can't guarantee but will do their best.

When I request a certain building AND ask for the 3 rooms to be close to each other, can I let them know that the building selection is more important to us than having close rooms?

My husband and I have been to Disney once (10 years ago) and it is a WHOLE new ball game this go round! Add kids and inlaws to the mix and my head is spinning! Thanks in advance for any tips or insight you all might have for me!

You will not find three rooms connecting; the most that connects is two. You can have three rooms adjoining or close by.

Here is how you do it. Book your vacation first and give your confirmation number to the other two families. That way you don't get stuck with making deposits. That is what I do.

Then when they book their rooms, tell them to ask to "link" the reservations to yours. That will provide the link to all three and then the room assigner will recognize that you want to be close together.

They can add requests, but I would be vague, like building no. or such and such location, so they have a better chance of getting close by in the least.

How many people in total? I did four rooms and ten people. I did the first six in two rooms and then when I called later to add two more people, I was considered a Grand Gathering. That made the last two easier.

The point is, make what reservations you can now, add it to later, and let Disney do the rest. Be specific about what you want and need (two VERY different things). For example, that last room was for my father who had medical needs (handicapped and first floor room). The other three rooms were already in pool view and didn't really matter. Once I made that specific request, we all were moved to be together.

Disney does their best. Keep your expectations in check and realize there are literally about a thousand people at your resort all with different check in and check out dates. Your room has to be shoe horned into the entire mix so it's like a huge jigsaw puzzle.
