I've done several searches and have read many threads about the rides I'm interested in trying on our next visit to UO. But I want to make sure I'm understanding them correctly, so please comment if you can. You should know that I HATE HATE HATE to lose my stomach. I've ridden Space Mountain a few times and do not like it. For some reason, I do love Big Thunder Mountain. I'm fine with the Forbidden Journey and have ridden Gringotts once or twice (years ago), but no longer remember it. After over 50 trips to the Magic Kingdom I have never ridden Splash Mountain and don't even intend to because of the drop. I've ridden RnR once and hated the launch because I lost my stomach. Tower of Terror is my nightmare. So, here are my questions:

(1) I've read that the front row of Gringotts is the best for a less intense ride. Is that correct?

(2) I've read that the back of Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure and in the sidecar is best for a less intense ride. Do you agree?

(3) I've ridden the Mummy a few times (years ago) and wasn't wild about it, but want to try it again. Is it better to be in the front or the back of this ride for a less intense experience?

Thank you for any advice/help you can give me. I'll even accept "don't do it, you're too big of a sissy!" 😂😂

My advice is just do it. You’ll be fine. The only rides I really lose my stomach on are things like Dr Doom. The rest are so brief that they’re non issues. Don’t psyche yourself out. :)

Front row of Gringrott's is less intense in that the drop at the beginning isn't as steep. I prefer front only because I feel like it's a bit more immersive because there isn't anyone in front of you. In the same manner, Hagrid's in the back could be considered less intense because you don't go up the incline as much before you reverse. (That said, with Hagrid's, you "get what you get" with where you sit. When we were there last month there was an announcement that you couldn't request a certain seating location but that may also depend on the TMs.) Sidecar does seem tamer to me than the bike and I prefer it. For Mummy I don't think the location makes a difference but, if you're going while covid protocol is in place, people have said (myself included) that it feels like it's running faster than before.

I am exactly like you. I do not like drops of any kind or losing my stomach at all.

1.) Gringotts is much less intense sitting in the front (it's barely a drop from the very front, you can see the bottom ~5-10 feet I would say. I make sure I am in the first car on that ride. I won't sit in the second.

2.) Hagrids is the least intense as far as drops from the very middle. I say this because the spike part you don't want to be in the front, but when you launch through the ruins section if you are in the very back you lose your stomach there a little too I think so I try to be about row 4 or so. Regardless though best ride ever so I just clench my stomach and ride on!

3.) Out of all these rides I think the mummy is the worst when it comes to losing your stomach. I don't find sitting in the front or back makes any difference since it is only 4 rows and 1 big car, it may be slightly less intense in the front, but not that noticeable.

I have yet to ride RnR and I really want to, but people tell me its more intense then the mummy or hatreds and those are the tippy top of my thrill seeking so I haven't gotten the courage yet. My husband told me there are no drops in it, but I don't believe him. Also, the going upside down part I have never done that before so that makes me nervous.

I have ridden splash mountain once when I was about 12 and I cried on it. I HATE drops and that one felt like it was going on forever! It's embarrassing though because my 5 year old rode it when he was 3 and LOVED it lol!

Hope all that helped!

That was very helpful, thank you! I appreciate everyone's replies! We'll be there in a week, so hopefully I'll be able to report back that I rode all of them and enjoyed it. I can tell you that IMO the launch was the worst part of RnR (and I'm hoping Hagrid's launches aren't as bad). I lost my stomach on the launch of RnR and the ride was so fast that I couldn't get it back until the end. But there aren't any drops in RnR. There are loops, but I don't recall losing my stomach on those, just the launch.

The front for Gringotts is a way better experience because of the 3D. I don’t think it’s any more or less intense. It’s my significant others favorite ride at Universal. We once rode it 4x in a row. The motion sickness improves after each ride. It has a drop right in the very beginning. I don’t do Splash or Jurassic Park because of the drops.
