We were suppose to go to Disney this past May and stay at PO Riverside for our honeymoon. Plans changed and we had limited money to work with. SOOOOOOOOO, we are hoping to go next May. I was there a long time ago and my DH has never been there. I am looking for a hotel with shuttle service, nice rooms (any with balconies), nice pool area, at a good price. I heard Caribe Royale is nice. Can anyone help us decide where to go! We are trying to stay around $1500 for the whole trip.

THANKS!

We made a wish and our dreams came true!

DH and I were in the same situation. We were planning to go for our honeymoon, but it ended up becoming a 1st anniversary trip.

We decided to prioritize. We knew we didn't want to spend too much, and our entire trip will come out to about $2000. That is for 6 nights, passes and food/souveniers. Since you are willing to stay offsite, I would suggest using Priceline and going for a 4*. You should be able to get something really nice for around $75 a night.

Also, check out http://www.mousesavers.com She has some good deals on offsite as well as onsite deals. we were planning to spend $89 a night at the DD courtyard Marriott, but found a code for POR for $79 so we switched. But we are also going in Sept. which is cheaper.

To keep your budget low, you may also want to look into something with a kitchenette so you can have some meals in-room (like breakfast)

Depending on how it works out preice-wise, I would look at three contrasting properties which all seem to meet your requirements:

1) Marriott's Orlando World Center - lovely upmarket hotel but not as pricey as Disney; great pool, many rooms with balconies overlooking the pool. Great restaurant choice and close to Disney.

2) Holiday Inn Family Suites - don't be put off by the family tag, they have several Sweetheart suites designed just for couples in the quieter part of the resort, with its own pool area. No balconies here, but many rooms do overlook the pool. Look up www.hifamilysuites.com

3) Best Western Lake Buena Vista - a cheaper option but in the Disney Hotel Boulevard and therefore very close. Great value, with Best Western prices but more upmarket styling thanks to a recent major refurbishment. Nice rooms, most with balconettes (not full balconies) with a great view higher up. Visit www.orlandoresorthotel.com

I added that info, to the Secrets area, of the Disney Vacation Planner!!
Thanks Simon!!
