Please Help -- Suggestions for Value Resorts

Which Value Resort would you recommend for a 20 y/o college girl and mom?

  • All Star Music

  • All Star Movies

  • All Star Sports

  • Pop Century -- even if it means paying an additional $250 to go the week it is available

My daughter's H.S. graduation gift last year was a 14 night vacation at Disney (POR) with the realization it would be our last Disney vacation for a few years due to college expenses. Now I am reconsidering. I have our annual passes that will expire in July, enough credit card points for two free airline tickets (it would just be us two) and imagine my surprise when I just received a pin code for 30% off a room, any resort as long as it is available. How can I not take advantage of this???

She is a huge Disney fan and I would love to surprise her. Pop Century (which would be both our choices) is not available during the early summer dates I have in mind, which are also the least expensive dates. None of the All Star resorts thrill me and I'm afraid they might be kind of childish for her since she likes to go back to the pool every afternoon for our break as well as some nights. Please vote which Value resort would be best for a 20 year old girl (who acts like she's 10 when at Disney) LOL. Comments would be appreciated as well.

Our preferred All-Star is the Movie resort. We stay there LOTS! Yes, there are kids but it seems like most families gravitate toward the movie and sports locations. We like to stay "far out" meaning away from the main pool and food court area. (This would mean getting the standard room - which is also the cheaper option.) There is a piano pool that is smaller and less used (especially by the kids) so a 20-something could sunbathe without getting splashed! We have never been disappointed with staying there.

Also, I would rather try something new as opposed to paying $250 more at another resort. I would take that $250 and use it to go out for a nice dinner (or 2)!

I voted for POP, but it is a tie between POP and ASMu. DS 20y/o prefers the food court at POP, but the atmosphere at ASMu...especially the Jazz section.

I voted for Music. I never stayed there, but when we stayed at ASMo, we walked over for a photo op, and also took the bus back there one night when it showed up before the Movies bus. Music definitely didn't look childish to me. Unless she hates music :confused3, I think a 20 year old would like that resort. I do recall they have some evening activities near the pool. If you want a more quiet, "grown-up" feel, maybe request a room not facing the main pool? I think that resort is overall more pretty than babyish.

I am 22 years old and personally am very exited to stay at the All Star movies resort. Once you're at Disney I dont think you can classify much as too childish, no matter what age you are. Especially if she loves Disney like me, anything goes!
