Though I've been to Disney many times, this is the first time in many years we are staying on site. I've booked the Swan at the nurses rate for April. What are the heavenly beds I keep seeing people talking about? Are they in all the rooms or do I specifically have to ask for a room with them? And I keep reading about some of the rooms being renovated... I've gotten a confirmation already. Are there specific things I should be asking for - i.e., the heavenly beds? How do you get an upgrade to a room with a better view? I don't have any Starwood points but I did sign up though I do have Marriot miles but there weren't any rooms available at the Dolphin for the time I want to go. Thanks so much for your help!

The heavenly beds are super soft beds with luxurious linens used at all Westin resorts. I wished all Disney resorts had them. It will be wonderful to crawl into that heavenly bed after a long Disney day !

Pop on over to dreamflights thread on Swan/Dolphin and you can learn lots about spg and the S/D.

Do all of the rooms at the Swan and Dolphin have these Heavenly Beds? They do look heavenly! Have all the rooms been renovated?

Mommyof2girls,

I am confused by your original post. What did you mean when you said you had Marriott miles, but the Dolphin didn't have any rooms available? I am looking at the Dolphin for our Sept/Oct trip - do they somehow take Marriott miles? I didn't think so, but I am curious...

You are right...I was thinking that the Dolphin was run by Marriot but it's run by Sheraton. Sorry... Does anyone know if the heavenly beds are in all the rooms and if all the rooms have been renovated? Is there any way to get an upgrade without Starwood points?

I am pretty sure that the heavenly beds are in all of the rooms. Sheraton's better hotels have Heavenly beds in all of their rooms, and the Swan and Dolphin certainly qualify. My DH and I stayed at a Westin in August in Canada, and loved the Heavenly beds so much, we ordered the same mattress and covers (a down comforter with a high-thread count duvet and down blanket, and 300 thread count sheets) so we could enjoy the same comfort at home. It was great.

How much of a discount is the nurse's rate? My family is going in March, and we didn't get a very good rate. i am a nurse, and would change our ressies if the savings is worth it!

Thanks for the great pictures! I didn't know that Swan had renovated rooms. Those pics sure look different than the room looked when we stayed there a couple of summers ago. The colors look to be MUCH more subdued.

As for the heavenly beds, so many people just love them, but DH & I slept on one during a stay in Cincinnati and neither of us could get to sleep we both thought it was SO uncomfortable. Maybe I just need to give them another chance.

Good point about being uncomfortable! My DH and I were very comfortable, but if you are used to a firm mattress, this may be very uncomfortable. If you have back probs, or sleep on you side, a plush mattress can give you all osrts of aches and pains. If you are a back sleeper, or are used to plush-these are heavenly!

We were at the Swan last month. I was my understaning that they are in the process of remodelling all the room and that only the rooms that have been completed have heavenly beds. (I called Starwood a few days before our arrival to request a Heavenly Bed room and they told me that "all the rooms have them" and the I called the Swan direct and was told that "none" of the rooms have them yet, but she put it on my reservation anyway.)

Anyway, our room was on the third floor, corner room, we could see Tower of Terror from one window and the upper fireworks at Epcot. But, best of all, we had a heavenly bed! Without a doubt the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in.
