Must book rooms (ap best rate) tonight. AKL or GF. Is concierge at AKL better than at GF? Getting 2 rooms, parents in one, children in other. Any input welcome in next 20 minutes. Sorry for rush. This best rate program is a real pain.

If I had my druthers, I'd wait a couple of weeks to book. Thanks.

For me it would be a matter of transportation. We prefer staying on the monorail particularly b/c our children are young. We felt very much "in the middle of no where," when we stayed at the AKL. I have heard many rave about it but we personally greatly prefer the GF. Sorry, I can't speak for the AKL concierge but we were pleased with the concierge at the GF (although have not stayed concierge for a couple years).

Oh this is a hard one. As both have lots of supporters that love each for different reasons, and just as many that don't care for one or the other.

Simply due to the monorail location to Magic Kingdom I personally would choose the Grand Floridian, but the AKL concierge is very good.

Hard choice and I love the Grand Floridian due to the grounds, boats and view of the Magic Kingdom.

This trip will be for the week before xmas eve. I doubt that the water will play a major role.

Also, only sugar loaf concierge is available. Is that an ok thing- full service? I already know that wine isn't avaiable and do not care.

I loved Sugar Loaf, and if you are going near Christmas then the Grand Floridian gets my vote hands down due to the decorations. It is beautiful year round, but breath taking at Christmas. Only the Wilderness Lodge come close at Christmas time.

If I go GF, is concierge worth it? Go for lagoon view or garden view?

Thanks to all of you for all the help on short notice. You folks are great!

Sugar Loaf Concierge at the GF is now completely full service with wine, beer, and evening cordials (completely mirrors main bldg concierge with food/beverage service as of July 2005). Also has the full evening offerings (late night) and the desserts. You can see photos at the GF FAQ thread (janet2K). If you're going at Christmas, I'd pick the GF without a doubt!

Time's up. OK, I bit the bullet. Got two rooms (lodge concierge) at GF for Dec 16-22. I hope that the concierge service is worth $200 a day for four people. I know we'll give that sunrise safari a try.

Cons: I'm not especially happy with the best rate program generally. Having to log on twice, from a Mac, and make two seperate reservations was a real drag too.

Pros: I can go to sleep now. Thank all of you so much for your help.I, and therefore my family, have been a little obsessive about DisneyWorld this year (this will be our third trip). Thanks for making my job easier. All the best.

Can someone explain to me what exactly concierge service is? Not sure if it effects us this trip or not ... this is our first time staying on site, we're at Pop Century,

Thanks!

It pretty much means you get taken care of VERY WELL!! Understand? Some of the hotels have special keys just to get to the concierge level.
