We are taking our first trip to WDW on points (we stayed at Vero for 2 nights last year) - we're going to our home resort, BCV in March. I have tried to read a lot here, and have learned a lot - thanks! My questions:

1. What time do people get to their resort for check-in? We sort of waited around at Vero, and then when we went to check-in at 4:00, the cast member told us we should have come in as soon as possible to get a better room. What time, then, should we arrive at BCV to seek a room assignment on our day of check-in? (I understand we will not be allowed in until later, but is it true that they will assign the room early in the day?)

2. I know mouse-keeping does not come every day, but do new towels? Are there towels already stocked, and are they decent sized towels? Also, are there seperate towels at Storm-Along Bay we can use?

3. Are there rooms with a view of Illuminations?

4. What time does the slide at SAB close?

5. Do I have enough questions for you? :-)

Thanks for any help...

Check in: Go as soon as you get there. In some cases it may affect your ability to get room preference. Opinion on that varies. They will hold your luggage and give you the card key and give you a number to check on your room. When it's ready they will tell you the number. Pack your suits separately and you can go to SAB while you wait. There will be lots to do while you wait.

You will be allowed in your room as soon as available. Which may be way before 4.

Towels: Are good. Separate towels at SAB are available so don't bring room towels. Check the DVC web site for info on towel and maid service. NO daily service unless you pay extra -- if you use points.

Don't fret. THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!! Just bring your bathing suit and prepare to unwind.

If you are staying in a 1 or 2 bdrm, there will be a washer and dryer. We throw our towels in there rather than pay for extras.

The slide closes when the rest of SAB does. It varies as to the time of year. As far as March, I am not sure. It is early when it is cold and around 10 in the summer.

Have fun!

Just a quick note on the illuminations view. I think that though you can see the fireworks, it does not do it justice. Illuminations is the best firework display that I have ever seen and I have seen it 20 times. If you watch it from your balcony, the sounds are just not there. The angle is different too. For most nights it is better to take the walk over to Epcot.

I would still request a 5th floor Epcot view to get a view of Epcot. It is very beautiful. The resort is great for its beauty and location.

I was there early (8AM) to register. They tell you they have a specific room for you but dont tell you the room number until it is cleaned. My room took until 5PM to get ready. It pays to get there early and have a room assigned to you.

Hi,

I agree about checking with reception as soon as you get there.

We were really lucky in sept last year. We arrived at BCV around midday straight from the DCL.

When we arrived at reception, she welcomed us home then asked where we'd travelled from, we told her we'd been on DCL for a week she said "you kids must be tired, lets see if we can get you an early room". Next thing I knew she handed us some key cards and off we went.

I guess from what I read on the boards it's quite unusual to get into the room so early, but worth checking anyway.

Good luck

Alba :wave2:

Well thank you all! I think that was it - I had read quite a bit here in the last few months anyway, and I can't think of anything new! If I do, I will know where to come!
