Please help :) Port Canaveral to Lafayette, LA???

This is what I get for waiting til the last minute

We're driving Dec 4 from Port Canaveral (Disney WOnder, hurray!) to Lafayette, LA, and then the next day home to League City, TX.

I've been trying to find out road closings along the way due to the awful hurricanes this year, and it has NOT been easy.

So just how do you get from FL to LA now?
This is what I'm getting from Priceline:

Which roads do y'all recommend? What's still closed? Surely I'n not the only coastal soul drving fom Disney--although I may be the only fool to wait til the last minute to find the route

You should be able to take I-10 west all the way from Florida with no problems. There may still be a few lane restrictions on some of the bridges, but I don't think there are any areas where you have to detour off of I-10.

Once you enter LA, I would jump onto I-12 west, which will keep you north of New Orleans, until it terminates with I-10 West in Baton Rouge. From there you can take I-10 straight on into Lafayette.

Try checking the LA DOTD and MS DOT websites for road condition updates as well.
