I have to coose between these for our one week stay in June.Kids are 14,8 and 9.We have been to Disney many times and here are our options because of budget reasons-One week POR with 3 day hopper tickets or one week POP with 5day hoppers plus a water park day.Hmmmm ...is there enough for the kids to do around the resort at POR for 3 resort days?As I have said,we have been to Disney many times so the 3 days in the park are enough as long as there are other amusements.I'm stumped, what would you do????TIA :confused3

Boy that is tough. I usually choose one or two day shorter vacations and stay at a moderate. However, I know kids love the values (my kids love the All Star Movies-toy story wing)

But to spend 3 or more days away from the parks at a value, just staying there, I don't know. If they like to swim all day, etc, they might like that best, and in June, you should have good pool/beach weather. If you plan on doing some of the other area attractions (gatorland, the airplane museum, Sea World, etc...) than you can easily fill up the days.

I don't know if that helps, as it happens I will be staying at POR in June for 3 nights/four days and getting four days worth of passes, but that is what works for me. We like to spend our days in the parks, and I have wanted to try this resort for a while and have heard good things about it, plus there is lots of recreation there (fishing, boat rides, bikes, etc.)

Either way, don't feel at all bad about your decision-it will be a nice family vacation and I am sure you will make some great memories!

Have you asked for their opinions? They may want to stay at POP just so they can go to the waterpark or DQ and all the days in the parks, or they may want to stay at POR just to have all the swimming days :fish:
I try to get my kids opinions as much as possible, 'cuz if their happy, I'm happy! :rotfl: Unless of course, you think you're going to get a different opinion from each one!

I don't think so, unless all you do is swim. If the weather is bad your options are limited. I would take a longer stay at POP with the 5 day hopper and water park. At least you can go to a theme park if the kids get restless or you want to eat at a different restaurant (IE you need theme park admission if you want to eat in the parks)

I would call and call and call again to talk to cms about rates/options. I think the more you call - the better your chances of getting a pin code are. I must have called 50x to try to figure out how to swing this for my family - then one day I called and had a code - $79 a night at POR!!!

I would imagine that is probably as good or even better than rates for POP in June. I am going in May - so it is probably a bit cheaper. Want to go in May - I think I could book another room at the same rate?

Good luck!!

What about going POR, doing the parks you want and getting the dining option? I think that really saves $$$. If it does not save too much at least almost all your meals are paid for before you get there!

Don't forget too your kids will get toi use POFQ pool also! You could do parks one daY on one day off.
