I am new at this and we are trying to use the 240 points that we earned by signing up in October at AKV. We want to do the World Passport thing and maybe go to Mexico or the Caribbean. I just called and everything is booked until April and we will be unable to travel in the fall. Also, I know nothing about any of these places. Are all these resorts in Mexico good? Has anyone used their points for these places? I feel a little overwhelmed.

Interval is not a reservation system but a barter system. Everything is not booked but simply nothing was available at the time of your call. Given that Xmas to Easter is high season, I would be very surprised if you called and something good was available. You need to get on the wait list and see what happens. I wouldn't expect success unless you can travel at short notice which is inside the 2 month window at best and often 2 weeks out. May and summer would be easier and more likely to match but still you'd need to wait list and see what comes up. Also you'll have a better chance of success if you can do a 1 BR instead of hoping for a 2 BR. If you do a 2 BR, you'll need a few more than the 240 points for all of the times you're looking at.
